What is the right age to land in a job these days?

I am asking this because I find lots of time gets wasted from class 8 till one finishes post graduate and by the time when finds his first job in India it is 22 years plus. Do you think one should be going for regular schooling and simply keep pursuing academics? Or is it a better option to go for a job from 14 years while simultaneously pursuing ones studies through open schooling or something similar to that. This question is being asked as lots of time gets wasted for the student in studies and if he had started working earlier. Then he would also have the work experience needed and will apply what he is studying to the work he does in his office hours too. The both work and study complement each other. Friends share your experiences and thanking you in advance for the same.

I don't think there is an exact age, but... The sooner it gets better.

Agreed, but in our country the minimum age when one can work is 18 years. This tends to eat up a number of years which one could have worked and earned and got experience too. That is the reason I asked the question. Thanks for the response.

I think it depends on your long-term goals, and whether you can manage study and work should you wish to continue education. I was about 17 when I got my first job - which was a voluntary summer job between college years. That was almost 20 years ago. I found study hard at college as it is, so I don't think I would have managed a job as well. Others, however, might do OK, especially if they find work in something which does complement their study.

I think 22 years is a perfect age when one finishes his or her professional studies.

Depends on the level of talent required for the job. In the summer, farmers need a lot of help with different activities, hay production particularly. We hire kids as young as 12 if they are strong enough, though generally 13 and up is better. Rather than hunting through word of mouth, it would be nice if kids interested in work could submit their names to one place where the businesses that need additional help can find them. If you stoke the work ethic when they are young, it isn't as challenging to enter later. But if they are capable, I think any age should be able to get some kind of work if they want it, in order to build their experience when they are young. I didn't have regular jobs, but I worked a lot starting from an early age, and weekends were never about play, and always work. I'm my most productive on Sundays, as far as physical and intellectual work goes. Mondays have always been my days off as a result.

I think it's perfect to start working after 18; as this time one gain maturity physically and also mentally. I support our country rules. Academic qualification is must for one's progress so, it needs time. The perfect person get perfect job in perfect time. Nothing is wastage.
