Do you use Goodreads?

A couple of years back I discovered - later probably than most people - the book site 'Goodreads.com' and I'm currently in my second year of their annual Reading Challenge. I love a good target to aim for and last year, recognising that I'd really not been reading as much as I used to, I set a target to read 40 books in 2016. I smashed my target and completed 71.
This year I knew I'd be so busy at work that I didn't want to set a target that would be too tough. I like to win - but I don't like to work TOO hard, if you see what I mean. So I set my target at 52 books - effectively one per week.
I like to build up a little bit of a buffer, just in case for any reason I really can't read for a few weeks, and now I'm at 16 books. I think that puts me about 4 ahead of the pro-rata target.
Do you use Goodreads, and if you do, are you doing the Reading Challenge? How are you doing?

@boiboing I don't think I'm actually going to hit that target - the only reason I'm currently close is from reading a number of ebooks that were listed on Goodreads but which don't have many pages. Perhaps 30-40 genuine ones at most. Then again, I've also read a whole bunch of stuff that isn't listed, from 1 page up to a couple of dozen. Perhaps some with more.
Back when I was at school I did a sponsored read and read 60 books in 6 weeks. I didn't do a whole lot else admittedly. I read so much because I've read a lot and am as a result a pretty fast reader.

I do use good reads but I don't do the challenge haha it makes me feel like I am in school and pressured to read. When I feel pressured, reading isn't as fun! I do like to keep a list of how many books I have read and it also helps me find so many more books to read.

First I am hearing of this. I will recommend this for my niece to check it out. Is the Reading challenge just a target or you qualify for something?
I am a great reader, but I hardly get the time to read anymore.

@boiboing My niece says she has been on this website for a few years now, but do no do the challenge. She reads a book a day. She said it's a really good site but she found another site where she downloads thousand of books per day.

I do, I am, and I have absolutely no idea. I just wait for the email which tells me 'yay!' or 'nay!' I like to enter the giveaways, but in three years I've only been picked to receive two books.

I use Goodreads to check reviews of a book that I plan to read. No, I don't do the reading challenge.

I have never seen Goodreads and I would undoubtedly lose the challenge, these days I barely read.

Yes I do. I don't do the reading challenge though. But I do post reviews there at least 2-3x a week. I used to be a member of Shelfari, before it merged with Good Reads a year ago. Feel free to friend me.

Yes, I'm on Goodreads. I have tried setting my reading challenges a few times but never accomplished any so far. LOL. But that's okay. I set another goal this year - to read just 10 or so books for the year. So far I'm getting close and it's only the first quarter of the year. Funny.
