Three Months of Mail Oh My

Yes, that is what I had to wade through yesterday after arriving home. It is hard to imagine how much junk mail gets delivered over that time period.
Alex was very good for January and February, he called me and he went through the mail and told me what each one was and I told him which ones to chuck and which to save.
But, the entire month of March awaited me and then, of course, the shredding of all the credit card offers, and there are many had to be undertaken.
I have gone through March, I now need to look at all the mail that was retained from January and February and pull out the tax information since next week I have an appointment with our accountant.
Considering I pay most of our bills online, the sheer volume is staggering. This is the worst part of being gone so long. I think next year I will have him mail me the mail once a month so I can deal with it in smaller doses.

Isn't there a way you can have it all forwarded to you in Florida? Seems like you have your hands full with all that mail and hope you can get through it all without too much hassle

I don't trust the post office to get the tax forms to us, I was thinking of leaving large mailing envelopes and having Alex mail it to me. I also am not sure what happens to magazines which are not shipped first class/

I wish I could too but some of them don't offer it, like our taxes for the cottage in PA.and there are three different taxes.

Yes, whenever we take even a short trip it seems as if there is a lot of paperwork and mail to go through.

I know what you mean. Mail does collect quickly. I burn all our credit card offers, it's really crazy how much of that garbage you get

All of my bills come to my email except two. One I receive in the mail and have to mail in a check. The other one I receive in the mail and log into my account online to pay. I could go paperless with that one as well but I like that they send me a paper bill so I can keep it for my records. If you get all your bills online then you can pay then while you are away as long as you have access to a computer.

Unfortunately bills such as our taxes at the cottage in PA. come in the mail. I am hoping that it gets better with that but so far, it is not offered any other way.

I just didn't want to take the chance with all the tax statements, I barely trust the USPS to get it to me once, let alone twice. lol

The most I've had to deal with is 7 weeks of mail and it was a tremendous amount. Just take your time. It's waited all this time, it can wait a bit longer.

You're saying that because you pay your bills online the mail didn't consist of any related to that but everything else? I'm trying to train my hubby to throw away the junk mail instead of plopping everything onto the counter. If he wants to get the mail he should be able to figure some of that out I'd think.

Yes but unfortunately even though I pay most things online they still send bills, notices, and receipts. I am wading through the piles.

Welcome back! It does sound like a good idea to have the mail sent down every month. I don't like the junk mail I get in just one or two days, let alone 3 months!
