How often do you buy new pillows?

There are many activities that I enjoy, but I would have to put sleeping near the top of my list. I recently bought some new flannel sheets from LL Bean, but realized that I still had one pillow that had lost its shape, and was close to useless. I conduct many of my most important activities in bed, but had been too lazy to get a new pillow. Yesterday, while at WalMart with a kid client, I spied a Serta Sertapedic Super Firm pillow for about $9. It was more that I could stand. I snapped one up, along with a Lego Superhero Somethingoranother for my kid client, who is homeless and depressed. Tonight, I will grade papers and sleep in luxury. And hopefully my kid client is making his Superhero Thingie and enjoying it. How often do you buy new pillows? For me, I realize it's only once every ten years or so. I have four on my bed.

I have pure wool pillows, I change the inner cotton cover every year and I was the external pillowcase every week. Natural wool pillows are pretty expensive, but they keep their shapes for about 20 years.

@ramapo17 Absolutely not, the feather pillows smell after awhile, but pure whole wool does not smell at all. I am allergic to the wool against the skin, but even more to every synthetic fiber, the synthetic bed sheets that many time I found in the US hotels made my skin itchy and red all the time.

I don't think I've ever slept on a wool pillow.Do they rap themselves around you, life feather pillows?

@LadyDuck Don't the wool pillows smell after awhile. I am so allergic to wool I cannot even go into a house that has wool rugs. My parents found that out when I was younger. I could not stop sneezing and I got all itchy.

I only sleep with one pillow and I don't like it too firm. I only replace when they are not doing their job.

@TheHorse It cricks my neck if I have more than one. Though I sleep with another one between my knees - it helps dodgy hips.

I do enjoy new pillows. I made one out of two cheapies I had bought several years ago and they were both flat as pancakes. I just mushed them into a pillow case. Then I bought two new of the bamboo ones recently but am saving them for when I buy my new bed. Whenever that will be.

@TheHorse When we moved to Florida from Pennsylvania we bought all new furniture as our stuff was old and not worth moving. We got the temperpedic bed and it is the best bed I ever had. We can adjust the feet area and the head area either together or separately.

Eek - I have been meaning to get new pillows but just haven't gotten around to it . Yah, ours look like funny boulders on the bed. I don't even remember when it was that I bought them last . . .

We seem to have dozens of pillows as we can accommodate quite a few people. Occasionally I throw one out when it gets too flat but I don't buy them too often. When we bought the caravan it come with four quite nice pillows so the count has gone up again.

@TheInvisibleMan I've taken a couple up to Montana for the Summer cabin. But this one is going into the dumpster. I think even the mice in Montana would thumb their little noses at it.

I don't buy pillows very often. Our pillows seem to last quite a bit of time. It's not something that we feel the need to buy very often, but it's nice to buy from time to time.

Mine never smell, since by body secretes honey, ambrosia, and nectar, with an undertone of patchouli. But they do get misshapen.

@TheHorse The thin ones just wash on normal, You can dry them also, but I hang mind out to dry. The thick pillows I do not recommend because they are so heavy for the washer.

Whenever the need arise, I do not hesitate to change my pillow. I started a somewhat similar post few weeks ago on this topic.
Our pillows and pillow cover are very important for us. Some of us don't use pillows due to medical reasons, however, most of us use it. I read in an article...

I cant stand normal pillows anymore, I got one of those shredded bamboo foam pillows and never looked back. J has one that is years old, and still good, as it reforms, and since it's shredded is less firm than a normal memory foam ergo more comfie

@ramapo17 nope, just a type of shreaded foam. not sure how they compare to say normal shredded foam, seemed to be the best reviewed things of shreaded foam pillows, so why I got one.

I buy them frequently. Of course, some of them will be given to sisters as they do not have time to go for these things. So I purchase for them. Generally, I purchase sofa cushions having good designs and latest fabric. Pillows, I purchase them once in an year.
