my pill box

This is a routine activity for me every morning and that is preparing my medication for the day. My pill container has 4 divisions; the top parts is the carvedilol 6.25 mgs halved in two for morning and evening doses; the left bottom is spironolactone 1/2 tablet which is an antihypertensive and loop diuretic, and the bottom right is my Coumadin tablet to be taken every 6:30 PM. The dose of Warfarin is a 6-day cycle and for this day, I prepared half a tablet of 3mg (blue) and a whole tablet of 1mg. Do you prepare your daily medicines in a pill box like I do?

@ridingbet No, I do not need vitamin supplements, I get enough vitamins from the food and fruits we eat.

@ridingbet , thankfully I do not have to take many tablets daily, only an antihistamine. It's good you prepare your daily medicines so neatly.

@ridingbet it would be so much simpler for her to use the container too, but I suppose she has to be comfortable with her choice.

@bluesa yes that is why there are times that she doubles her intake of zinc effervescent tablet. good it is not her maintenance medicine.

yes, i really have to do that because when the clock strikes on schedule, it is easier to take the tablet out and gulp it on time. my sister, although she has the pill container for 1 week, she still takes her medicines direct from the aluminum foil.

@ShifaLk okay. i asked the question because a pill is so different from a tablet or a capsule, or caplet. we have a pill here administered sublingual to relieve chest pain, the nitroglycerin

When I was suffering from high blood pressure, I would set my medications up for an entire week every Sunday evening. Now I am rid of the HBP and I have no need to prepare any meds.

@Shavkat right, but we can alter our lifestyle so we won't inherit those illnesses that our elders had. diabetes can be controlled even if it is inherited, right?

This is why I'm trying best to eat vegetables every once or twice a week. I couldn't do it every day because I couldn't grow much vegetables. I could only afford to buy them.

@Happy2BeMe yes, and it is really important to have an alarm for the medicines we take, because the medicines should be taken exactly at the same time, especially if it is a daily dosage. after 24 hours, the blood levels fluctuate so we have to maintain the level of the medicine in our system.

I don't have a pill box and although, I know how important it is, I'm doing everything I can do in the present to ensure that I'd be healthier in the future. What are those medicines for?
