Traveling mishaps that spoil your trip

I used to ride greyhound bus. Greygoung buses go anywhere in the Continental United States. This was prior to 9/11. It was winter when I left to go to Texas. I had no experience with the bus line, but it was awful. We had an ice storm and we were stranded for 5 days. We had to sleep on board the bus and the company didn't pay for any meals. People were hungry. One person called Greyhound and complained and then we got vouchers to get so many dollars worth of food and drink. We had to use the store bathroom. The worst thing about traveling is staying fresh and clean. I kept adult wet wipes and dry wipes made by Attends. That was better than nothing. I would never travel by bus again. I would go by plane, and I would buy an extra seat so no one could squash me in. I had a nightmare on the bus but that's another story. Pixabay image

Anything could ruin traveling weather it be by bus car plane or train. Break down of the tranportation, forgetting something and of course weather.

I have often dreamed of traveling on a Greyhound bus - but I certainly won't want to be stranded on one.

Riding the bus long term is awful. No way to clean up. They need some showers in the bathrooms to stay fresh. @Kandae11

Plane travel has its own challenges. Two years ago I flew from Buffalo to Seattle, via Detroit and back. The trip to Seattle involved changes because of a problem with the plane....arriving in Seattle four hours later than planned on a different flight. Coming back....there was a weather system. Considering that we were to be in Buffalo at 9 on Monday morning......we ended up on the floor at JFK in New York City on Monday night....no food vouchers.....and finally arrived home on Tuesday evening.
