Good Morning peeps, howz ya doin? I'm sharing again, I like to keep informed and if or when I find out something I think might be important to others I share it. This is about another pet food recall, I was totally stunned and grateful that I haven't fed any of this to Ally. Of all things to harm our pups, this time it's the packaging, apparently the aluminum cans used to store Homestyle Recipe Healthy Weight, Chicken Dinner with Garden Vegetables has been deemed unsafe. I'm so glad Ally only gets the wilderness formula kibble and when she gets a treat it's homemade. Have you fed this to your pup? Do you know anyone who fed this to their pups? Please spread the word to any dog owners you may know that does, Thank you.

Wow glad your puppy is ok, I will have to let my sister know I don't think they feed their dogs this, but I'm going to make sure. Thanks for the information.

I don't feed Ally canned food, she get the wilderness kibble formula and I haven't had an issue with it in the 10 years I've been feeding it to my pups.

@rebelann I'm pretty sure my sister doesn't feed her dogs from a can either.

I always feed my furmily the wilderness kibble formula they make and so far those haven't been recalled .... only ma's kitties get canned foods. BB is actually one of the better brands out there, this is the first issue I've seen connected with it. I've posted about Hills, Science diet and Iams a few times, those seem to have issues more often than they should given they're a step up from Purina.

So many brands have had recalls over the years, it is hard to know who to trust. We have changed brands so many times and also make some of our own, as you know!

Thank you @PatZAnthony that's so kind of you. I do make chicken for all of us and the furmily gets most of the chicken, I usually add potatoes and carrots to the soup which they get as well.

Thanks for the update, though I don't buy from that brand. Just Purina and Iams from time to time.

I've seen a few pet food recalls in the last few months and I guess someone isn't doing their job right at these companies. Our pets are part of the family and we do everything we can to protect them. Thanks for keeping the information coming!

You're correct, they are our furmilies and deserve the best we can give them. I don't recall seeing BB recalled before, not like Iams, Science diet, Purina or Iams has been. I'm just glad it's just that one canned food item they make and not all of their foods. I give mine the kibble and add homemade treats when I can.

That's actually easy @CRK109 but I'm not sure you'd want to. Just give her partly raw meat like chicken and she'll go nanners for it. She's a carnivore so meat is what she craves.

@rebelann It would be my complete pleasure to find something really wholesome to feed my cat that she would also love! It's turning into a full time job! lol

Things like this make me glad my furbabies are safe in heaven! I'm glad Ally doesn't eat this food. I thought that Blue Buffalo would be more diligent.

They are, it's the first recall I've seen of this brand and it was only the one canned formula. My own 2 furbabies only get kibble and mom's furbabies get what she used to feed them, they couldn't handle the diet change I tried to make because of their ages.

I know what you mean, it's like someone is trying to hurt our furmilies by trying to sabotage their food. I still think BB is better than most but then I stick with the wilderness grain free kibble.

I only buy the BB wilderness kibble they make and in the past 10 years I haven't had a problem with it. I don't buy canned dog or cat food for my own furbabies, only mom's gets the canned stuff and they are used to the cheap stuff so I'm sticking with that due to their ages.

@rebelann it sounds reasonable to me. Mine gets the homemade dog food and the dried food by Blue.

Good information. It seems more and more pet food, especially dog food, is tainted these days.
