Gratitude has no bounds

Those of you who are FB friends with me know the panic in my posts from last night. My cat wasn't doing well and I'd spoken with a visiting vet (who isn't able to come and visit us). She advised me to get my cat to a vet, partly so she could be seen sooner and partly because it will be cheaper than visiting vets. So I took to FB to beg someone to help me get my cat to a vet. Some days I really hate not having my own car, you know?
Well, two friends came forward. I know both of them from my job waaaaaay back when at the church. They were both just kids when I first met them. They are now both married and I have such respect for the women they have become. They both told me that they would be in my city today and could take us to the vet.
I've spoken with both of them on the phone today and I'm feeling a little better about things. I have an appointment in a couple of hours and one of the women is coming here to drive me (she's the same one who helped me when I lost Britt). The other talked with me for quite some time on the phone, calming me down and helping me look a little more objectively at things (which I have trouble doing once I begin to panic).
While I still don't know what's wrong, I am so grateful to have people in my life willing to come to my aid when I need it. I try very hard not to ask for help often so as not to drive people away.
So that's it. I'm a little shaky, although my cat is acting a little better today. But we'll see the vet soon and hopefully we can get back to normal around here.

I wish it was, although she's doing a little better than yesterday.

I would gladly pay anything to help my cat. Of course, the problem is that I don't have much money anymore and I'm afraid that if I get a large bill in the coming days, I won't be able to buy food for myself later in the month. But I'll worry about that later. My cat seems to be declining fast, and my heart is broken. And I know it's part of life. She's been such a loving companion since I lost my husband and I'm going to miss her immensely.

I'm so glad I saw the vet, although things have just gone downhill since then. Obviously, something is very seriously wrong with my beautiful cat and I fear I'm going to lose her soon. But I never would have forgiven myself if I hadn't taken her.
