What is your definition of risk? My defintion of risk would be taking chances instead of deciding whether you should or not

I would say that taking a risk is doing something out of the ordinary, something you don't know whether it will succeed or fail. I think there are different types, and levels, of risk. It could be said that we take a risk by crossing a road, driving a car, or even putting the kettle on! Then there are calculated risks where you've made an informed decision about something but it's not tried and tested. Then the big risks where you just go and ahead and jump in without thinking about what you're doing.

To me, driving in a big city is a risk I definitely don't want to take!

Risk is that something that we know might happen along the way although we don't know when, where, how and maybe why. It's a question of the degree of probability.
