Do you exaggerate to impress your date?

Not everyone, but some guys and gals tend to exaggerate when dating. For instance, I dated this guy, and ended up marrying him ( big mistake). We got to talking about where we lived. He said that he lived in a penthouse apartment. I took that to mean the image he placed in my head. His penthouse apartment was nothing more than a top floor apartment with a shared bathroom that was used between the guy downstairs and my then soon to be husband. I dated someone else that said he was a southern gentleman. Well, this southern gentleman liked to flirt and take a second and third look. When I called him on it, his answer was 'God gave me these eyes to look, so I'm looking. To me that is not a gentleman to scope out other women when he is married to me or dating me. Image: Pixabay

Beautiful picture. I have met guys like that last one you mentioned. That is huge red flag to run.

It's so disrespectful but I stayed married to him just shy of 10 years.

I get in trouble for being honest. Women always say they want honesty and nice in men, but when they see what it is, they run straight for the bad men! Then they complain about it later. So the logical conclusion: people don't know what they want.

The wrong partners. I would love to have someone. I'm a good person and I'm upfront about my weight and health. No one wants me. I'm good with that. It is what it is.

I appreciate people who are honest since I am a very honest person. I never saw the point in lying but that might be because I grew up in a family where we didn't lie about things. I know things about my parents and have conversations with my parents about topics most people would never dream about having with anyone. My parents never hide things from us as kids especially about their past and when they were growing up. Of course, we had the whole Sante Claus, Easter Bunny, etc. lies but they never lied about anything important or what we went through as a family so I appreciate honest people a lot. Lying just doesn't get you anywhere and it hurts people so I don't understand why people do it.

Many lies to show they are more rich that they in reality are. I agree with you that one was not a gentleman.

Both sound like creeps, I have never lied but I have withheld truths before. But now I know better then that, I am honest and upfront and if they can't handle me as I am I guess I will remain single.

I don't exaggerate when on first dates or at all. It is kind of stupid to exaggerate on a first date with someone that you plan on being in a serious relationship with. If you plan on getting serious with them then they are going to find out the truth sooner or later so why start the relationship on a lie.

He can look all he wants -- but not when I am around. I think men would exaggerate more than women.

Oh boy. Lying about where the guy lived is bad and all but nothing like looking at other women.
