You can’t undo mistake

You have made a major mistake in life!! That's it. That’s the end. Nothing you can do to repent or undo your mistake.
You can jump, may run or twist as much as you wish, but mistake is done-nothing you can’t do turn it around. It is like being infected by HIV virus by mistake. The disease will be lifelong.
Rest of the life will be pass by somersaulting back and forth. Still you can’t do anything. Checkmate.

It is true that we can never undo a mistake. We can usually, however, make amends, learn from our mistakes, and sometimes even use the mistake to our advantage. You are right, of course, that some mistakes are so major that they will have a lifelong effect no matter what we do but then it is up to us to change what we can or work around those mistakes.

We can always learn from our mistakes, and take note of went went wrong, try to be careful not to make that same mistake again in the future.

In a way, you are right. But mistakes are the stepping stones to not make future mistakes. As regards the marriage example you've given, you could try to turn the table on the positive side, and try to salvage your marriage by looking out for the compatible this with your partner.
