Yesterday I got Spectrum up and running. What I didn't realize was that they didn't keep my same phone number. I've been on the phone with them to retrieve my phone number most of the morning. They are having trouble getting it, but they assured me they would. It would also take a couple days before I got it back again.
I found out about the phone issue when I called AT&T to cancel service. They didn't show the number had ported. I also talked to the nicest person at AT&T who told me what should have been done regarding the reason I'm leaving them in the first place. Not one person was that helpful when trying to resolve the situation the many times I called. Now, well, I'm not sorry to be away from AT&T. One good customer representative does not give me enough confidence in their service to ever go back to them.
In the mean time, my son was hitting my buzzer and came in saying he couldn't get a hold of me - I told him why. I sent FB messages to my sister and brother to let them know to use my cell number until everything is straightened out. Also my youngest.
Also sent an e-mail to my editor to get in touch with me via e-mail or cell to talk second editions for Manifest Destiny and Stowaway, and let her know I will be reading Scarred at open mic on Saturday during the huge Author event going on in downtown Green Bay Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I also needed to contact the insurance company to get the car taken care of with them, and I have one more phone call yet to make to cancel my upcoming dental appointment. I'm not wasting five hours round trip for a five minute appointment for dentures I rarely wear. I can't eat with them. They are decoration only.

Grr.. I am really not sure which buttons I am inadvertently pressing, but I accidentally closed the browser a moment ago. So here I am starting over.
We've had similar problems with AT&T.. Well customer service wise atleast. It was an ordeal and the service was eventually canceled because they were not helpful, they were scamming us, and we didn't want to deal with their rigamarole anymore.
I hope that your day starts to slow down a little bit.
It is quite cold here, and rainy. I do enjoy the rain, but as I will be at work in a few hours.. I really wish it would hold off until I can bundle up in bed and enjoy it.

Any chance you have to get away from ATT I would do it. We have gotten rid of everything with them except the internet. They are the only ones that can provide it in my area, no cable, just DSL. They are always trying to sell us more services and I tell them, been there done that, not going back.

@mom210 I was with AT&T many years ago and I remember being disenchanted with them when I canceled their service then. It was the good reviews I saw that had me changing from Time Warner. I really didn't like Time Warner when I changed. I only have two options, so I'm back with Spectrum which was Time Warner and hope this time around it won't be too bad. They always had good customer service, but my Internet was so slow. I think it was just my old computer. When I brought everything up yesterday it was faster than I've ever seen it.

I hope you can get it all straightened out quickly! It's frustrating to be without a phone even if just for a little while!

I don't need a phone. Or maybe I should say I'm not dependent on it. I love that it sits here not ringing and making me jump a foot when it does. I answer it before half a ring is done. I can't stand a ringing phone. Of course if I'm not at my computer it takes all of five rings before I get to it. Then more often than not it's a telemarketer. I really hate that!

I do so hate to hear that AT&T has another unhappy customer. I used to work for them back in the late 70's and early 8o's. It was Mountain Bell before the divestiture in 1980. They sure have been going down hill. I've had a good day. Made nearly a $1 on here.

So am I. I would love to have a nice full set of real teeth like I used to have. Yes, it is annoying. It's a good thing the phone doesn't ring often. Though I know I've missed a very important one, and need to remind myself to get to the pharmacy for my refill.

They are supposed to, but every time I eat something they loosen up and I end up taking them out. It's easier to eat without them than with them. Being on Medicaid, they only allow a certain type of denture. I can't get the kind that screw into the mouth, or some decent dentures that look like I have a normal set of teeth. The teeth are shortened versions so you can't even tell I have dentures in my mouth, not the upper ones at least. Our government is really messed up when it comes to what they allow us poor folks. I need to sell a few million copies of my books to get off Medicaid. I can't stand this. Oh well, there's my rant answer. Are you sorry you asked?

Today Is not a good day for me. I think my Fibro is in hyper drive as I really hurt and have a bad heachache but posting here trying to take my mind off things

At least the support people you talked to sound pleasant. I hope you get your phone issue taken care of and good luck with reading at the open mic

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to it. Had to call both of them again today. Got an e-mail stating they were activating my AT&T, freaked me out! I should have the number back by Thursday they think. I hope so.
