Linux is definitely one of the best. I would recommend you trying the mandriva linux 2007. It has great looks.

Yes it is the best till now. It is also very user friendly I agree. Thanks for answering on my tpic +ve for all of you. Ans as of linux...it is not at all difficult...just go for a knoppix edition like mangrive live then go for the full edition ...I recommend mandriva flavour for linux. Its the best.
