How to deal with boring clients?

May 3, 2017 1:54pm CST
No matter what your type of work, they will always appear. In many or few quantities they'll come to you ... And when they appear: How do you react? I think that because I'm a very talkative person (and in a way, patient) I don't usually have - many - problems.

Yeah see I am like that too, at least more used to be when in my job. When I was doing hairdressing, most clients love interaction of chatting. A very few though, would come in and be reading a newspaper or magazine while I was working on their hair and no talking and so serious omg..so I just shut up and worked and waited til it was over.. Yes, booooooring.

You would think me boring if you were my hairdresser. As an introvert I find small-talk difficult, so I don't talk unless I need to. Instead I listen to everything that's going on around me, smile in all the right places and spend the time avoiding looking at myself in the mirror. I'm not boring. I'm just quiet, shy, and introverted. *sad face*

You have raised a good point here @TheInvisableMan Boring people are everywhere. However, they can only affect you when you interact with them. They are usually one of your family members or friends. What I would do? I would try to get them participate in an interesting conversation.

Had quite a few of them to deal with. Patience was my main thing also and being able to communicate with others well.

I think that 'boring' is subjective. Some people are simply quiet. Some may lack confidence. And I suppose it does depend on what you mean by 'boring'. We all have our own ideas on what boring is. I wouldn't describe any of my clients {in this instance, students} as boring, but some of the lessons I have to sit through are mind-numbingly boring and make me sleepy!

I think there are more problems when two non-talkers get together.

I have to think how to approach about how to get them into looking at my table and things on it and talk about that and hopefully they will buy from me.
