~The Wrong Idea~

Either here or anywhere else have you ever thought someone was one way then you read or saw something completely different from them? It can change your opinion of someone rather quickly when that happens. It can be disappointing sometimes, can't it? That happened with someone I had high respect for here. I saw something they wrote and I was shocked! I never thought of them as a cheater, so it threw me off. Has that ever happened to you with anyone?

It hasn't happened to me on here but it has happened to me before. It is always disappointing when a person isn't who you thought they were.

@Happy2beme Yeah it wasn't anything that made me dislike the person or anything. I was just a little disappointed.

I tend to be a pretty good judge of character, even on the internet. I can get a sense of someone through their writing so I can't say that I've been shocked by anyone thus far. I'm sorry that you were though. It definitely can be unsettling.

@NJChicaa That's good! It's okay, I was just a little disappointed by their comments. I still like the person, I just know how they actually are now.

@NJChicaa Nope this is a male actually. Lol. I know who your talking about and I respect that more actually because at least they are honest and open about it-even though I don't agree with it.

@LovingMyBabies I only know of one cheater on here. They openly admit it. I'm just surprised that they are still with their spouse after all of it.

Cheaters no, not on this site. Rude and odd behaviour on the site.....lots and lots and lots of! I try to take everything that I read with a grain of salt, anybody and everybody can be having a bad/off day, right?

Not really on here...in real life it has happened a few times. I get somewhat pissed off with myself on here as I occasionally say something stupid and people get the wrong idea about me as a whole...then block me If I had some degree of respect for a person then found out something about them that shocked me I'd try really hard not to judge the whole person by one thing unless it was a deal breaker type thing for me. To me a dealbreaker would be someone who liked fox hunting or was a racist or who was dishonest...other things don't bother me so much.

@Mike197602 Yeah it was just something I was disappointed by, not something that will keep me away from them or dislike them or anything. Just like oh man, I didn't want to think that about them but it wasn't just one comment-it was several. I think your very nice and I have never had an issue with things you have said. If I did though I wouldn't block you I would just message you and let you know.

@thislittlepennyearns thanks sometimes I respond to things I should just skip. sometimes I respond to things and don't explain myself right. At the moment I'd say I am blocked by people that should block meapart from maybe one as Ive no idea what I said to offend him and he unblocked me once and I had no direct contact with him then he blocked me again I admit I can be an absolute d1ck at times and I'm sort of trying to stop that but I'd prefer people to call me out on what I say rather than block me. A month or so ago I said a somewhat silly thing and the guy jumped on me and eventually we came to some sort of agreement and all was/is fine. Just noticed he's actually on this discussion

Really? Were you able to leave a comment? No, I haven't noticed that here, but I have had contact with a very odd, boring, dull, and ignorant person before. It was impossible to leave a decent comment. Thank goodness that one is out of my life.

@DianneN I didn't leave a comment because I hate confrontation and I think that's where it would have went. And it's not really my business, but it still bothered me. Lol, I'm sorry for the person you encountered!

@LovingMyBabies I dislike confrontation, too. I understand why you didn't comment. In my case, I was expected to comment, but it was pathetically difficult to comment on pure stupidity and boring discussions. Besides, it's not true that all fat people are jolly. This one had no sense of humor, and if so, it was so off kilter from the norm. and good riddance! I feel so good and free now.

Not sure what you are reacting to. I've had comments that made me question whether I want to hear from them. I've also had comments totally (deliberately?) misinterpreted.

@Morleyhunt I didn't reply or anything to the comments because it disappointed me so I just left it alone. It is hard to tell how people mean things online so maybe it's not on purpose. I know you have commented on my discussions and I wondered if you were being harsh because you care or if you dislike me! I think now I was just being sensitive-like I always am-everywhere.

I do like to know where I stand and how others stand too. People are complex. Have a lot to them. I hope whatever they said wasn't too bad.
