Amping Up My Workout Routine

Good news - I finally hit the 30 pounds lost mark - yeehaw! I started exercising and eating better back in January and the results have been good- more energy, better skin, and of course lost most of the weight I gained from working a sedentary job. Lately, the weight loss has been in a slump for me even with eating well and exercising about 6 days a week for an hour. Starting yesterday I decided to up my routine a little bit (they say your body starts to get used to the same exercise) and do other machines besides speed walking on the tredmill. So hence I exhausted myself yesterday on the elliptical and stairclimbers and will be trying to put in about 80-90 minutes at the gym most days of the week. I have so far, and so far so good. Whats your routine like? Hope you have a winderful day!

Happy to hear the plateau has been busted Maezee. I do not work out like that too much for me haha I just walk when I can and do a little bit of stretching.

You don't have to kill yourself on the cardio machines. You can do a shorter time on them and them just cycle between your weight machines so you stay out of breath.

I do weights usually a couple times a week. At least half of that hour and a half is low intensity speed walking, which is my favorite part so I dont want to ditch it. Lol. Thanks for the info and hope all is well.

That is awesome! Sounds like you hit a plateau, but keep up the good work and the weight should start coming off again. I don't take in more calories than my body can burn. I mainly walk this time of year.

Yes. It makes sense since your smaller body is burning less calories. Still stinks though. Lol

Burning fat actually works best when you do intervals of sprinting/resting but your workout still goes for at least 20 minutes, so that's what I try to do (I aim for 30 minutes).
