Love My Kindle

I just bought a book on Amazon which should be a good read. It was only 99cents so how could I pass it up. It is a paranormal romance about gods. Should be good. Anyone remember Reader's Digest Condensed books? I used to have stacks of them. Now I don't need to have all of the book. I have the free Kindle app on my computer. I buy a book on Amazon and it automatically uploads to my computer and to the Kindle where it keeps it for me. I can book mark it when I am done reading and go back to it any time I wish. Do you know of this? Do you have it on your computer?

I do not want a kindle at all. I want to hold a book in my hand and read it that way,

I have had a Kindle for years, and while it's nice for traveling, I miss an actual book and sometimes go to the library to get one. I love holding a book and I love the smell of them.

Yes, there is that. I just wondered if folks knew about the free app you can just put on your device. Very handy.

no i usually do other things on my computer. but used to have that app and several great books on my tablet i had till i loaned it to my daughter and her bf broke it. she said she did but i don't believe it. said she dropped it. anyway its one reason i don't hardly ever loan them anything any more. that and the fact that they forget to give things back till i go after them and hope they are not ruined.

I read some e-books but prefer real ones - never liked reader's digest condensed books as they abridge the text

I prefer the real ones also but, I like the fact that I don't have to have alot of shelf space in using the Kindle.

I do remember those Reader's Digest books and I also have the app, although I've been getting books from the library so much that I don't use the Kindle much these days. But I can borrow ebooks from the library as well. And I just might begin doing that so that when I go out, I can just bring my Kindle instead of a heavier paper book.

@CRK109 ......It really helps. Hard to find large print books now days. With the Kindle I can make the print as large as I like.

@celticeagle Cataracts do make reading very difficult, don't they? Yes, having a book online is much easier going! I hadn't considered something like that!

It sure is. I like not having to make a lot of room on the shelf for the books although I enjoy having them in my hand to read.

I have a Kindle and love it too. I've downloaded many books for free and even a bargain price of 99 cents.

I have been an avid reader of ebooks. I know that readers digest books. I used to subscribe from them and it just took so much space on our tiny house. So having a digital version is a relief for booksworms like us.
