Do you know of any health tips found in the Bible? Yes, there are quite a few! * Be balanced when it comes to exercise. While some physical exercise is useful, there are other things that are even more important and so we don't want that to become the focus or our lives. 1 Timothy 4:8 New International Version (NIV) 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. * Controlling our emotions, our anger and keeping calm is stressful situations is good for our heart. Proverbs 14:30 New International Version (NIV) 30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. * God encouraged us to eat lots of fruit and vegetables. It was our original diet. Genesis 1:29 New International Version (NIV) 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Any comments on the ones that I mentioned. Can you think of any others?

Religions have always imposed rules to help people get healthier, fasting, no meat on Fridays, were all imposed by religions because it was the only way people would adopt healthier habits.

They have also come up with the saying: "Cleanliness is next to godliness." We know that being clean in all aspects of life improves our overall health.

@1hopefulman So true, when they were unable to convince people, then religions came in to impose the rules.

I see at least 3 tips in this verse. Luke 21:34 New Life Version (NLV) 34 Watch yourselves! Do not let yourselves be loaded down with too much eating and strong drink. Do not be troubled with the cares of this life. If you do, that day will come on you without you knowing it.

@1hopefulman I don't drink....does it mean too much strong drink or any at all? That day will come on you without you knowing it. Which day is that? I wish there was a diet in the Bible to show how much is too much eating.

"seed-bearing plant" makes me think more at cereals than at vegetables. At this time God was eating bread ; today a lot of people are considering to be not healthy any not gluten-free grain.

Don't all vegetables come from seeds?

@1hopefulman We eat a lot of roots which are not the "seed-bearing" part of the plant : carrots, potatoes...

I really like this discussion. God told Adam not to eat of the apple, but now we do. Why do you think that is the case? I once made a scripture cake for my grandmother's 75th birthday.

I'm glad you like this discussion. The Bible actually forbade eating the fruit of only one tree. They could eat from all the other trees. The fruit is not named and so we have no idea what the forbidden fruit was. That tree was destroyed at the time of the flood. So, we can enjoy all the fruit we want. Genesis 2:16-17 American Standard Version (ASV) 16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

@MsBooklover Where did you get the idea that the fruit was an apple? Can you share the Bible verse?

@1hopefulman Isn't that the apple? Eve gave the apple to Adam.

Veggies were our original diet. We have to get back to the basics, like much less meat.

Yes, God put Adam and Eve in a garden and told them to eat the fruits and vegetation. That was our original food.
