Here I am advocating again. Our moms were right eat your veggies young and old and watch the fat around your waist. Do not joke about middle aged spread as thats were the type two diabetes gets its victims.YOu get l;loaded down with lots of fat cells and they stop insulin from doing its job of herding sugar into our muscle cells and instead dumps it into our blood here it does not belong at all. Sugar in our muscles give us our energy but in t he blood s tream will injure various prgans i n time. this is no joking matter at all. NOw too do not stress over ever l\little thing as that shoots up your blood sugar worst than food.Re,member most things are lttle and not worth stressing over at all Do not just automatically assume diabetes is a death se ntence as now day it is not at all. Lots and lots of us diabetic lead normal l ives Be informed and proactive abut diabetes ad you will be a healthy diabetic healthy happy and productive and you can live into your nineties . I have had it since' I was fkfty three and now ninety nd in full control of my blood sugar all the times.. One original post and graphc by P Hatley copyrighted 2917

I work at working more fruits and veg into my diet as I am diabetic. What encourages me is seeing those numbers down in the morning when I test.

Great information hats thank you. Fresh greens are a must. I am not eating much fruit at the moment as most of its quite awful. But am eating fresh greens and salad. Hope you do too.

Great information. It is important to care about what we eat when we age. I have been very careful all my life not to gain weight. It's hard when you age, but I am doing a pretty good job.

Exactly. My hubby is a diabetic and I could be for all I know. We have been Vegans- except for home eggs- since last summer. He is a ton healthier now, me, though I work on not acting on my sugar cravings each and every day. Whole grain and vegies. Can't beat that old time medicine. Much better than pills.

@Hatley Our strawberries are just starting to bloom. My mouth is watering though I'd best not count my berries until they make it into my mouth!
