I think this is important for all American Citizens to remember. With all the complaints I hear about Trump maybe this is how we can trump him. It's just a thought.
"Remember this date November 6, 2018. That's the date on which 33 senate seats, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, and 14 governorship's will be up for re-election. Put it on your calendar now and be prepared to be an informed voter. If you are worried, concerned, angry, disappointed about the direction the government is going this is the most effective way to make a change, stop complaining and start planning. Remember the president is only one cog in the government machine, and you can make effective change through voting for your local and state representatives, this is the check that can balance this situation. Pass it on…. I was told to pass this on. Be prepared. Share this as a start to all your comments."
I hope I can learn more about the politicians that are running for congress or the house of representatives in my state and as for local, holy cow, I hope there are some newer smarter people running in my community
How about you? Do you know who's running for governor or house or senate in your state?

While I understand we need to vote in Democrats to slow trump down, Illinois has a huge problem with Democrats that have held seats for 30 plus years and things are not good in Illinois. We have the largest number of people moving out of the state in the US because we haven't had a state budget in almost 2 years. Many schools may have to close as they are not getting the money they need to operate. The high school in my town is now 750 thousand dollars in debt because of this mess, I have no idea how much in debt the grade school and the junior high have. The kids are entitled to free schooling and now the parents here are in an uproar as they don't know whats going to happen for the coming school year or what they need to do about it.

That education is not really free, taxpayers support their education. Maybe it would be beneficial to get to know the new people running for seats in the house of representatives or the senate or governorships to see if one or another might do a better job than the fools that are in there now.

I wonder if more than 10% of those populations actually vote @fishtiger58

@rebelann But those fools have very large populations of people that keep voting them in. What can be done about that

Exactly @Hatley if people don't vote then they shouldn't complain. I wish all US citizens would exercise their right to vote.
Here in El Paso the ones that vote are the new Citizens, they came from countries where they didn't have that right.

This is something many might want to keep in mind, especially now that we have been informed of the cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, etc. that will occur.
Many are really afraid for their future and that of their disabled and retired family members.

I wouldn't be surprised if the blame should be placed on those in either the house or senate or somewhere else @PatZAnthony those politicians have been in office a lot longer than just 8 years like Obama, not that Obama did us much good.

@rebelann The disaster ahead of us has been in the works for a long time. Trump is just pushing things over the edge.

I pretty much keep up with what's going on both locally and nationally. I wish more people would. Who we choose to represent us can make all the difference. Good post.

Looking ahead is important and I have learned to expect disappointments but hope only for the betterment of our United States in a Bipartisan way, not either or.

I just wish more us citizens would get off their duffs and vote especially for those seats in the house and senate. Some of those politicians have been in office since before Bush.
