I did not get a picture

Funny thing, yesterday was turtle day. I moved an empty trash container that we do not use. It was laying on it's side. In the shade of it was a box turtle. He was heavily crusted in mud. I did not think to get a picture. He was enjoying basking in the sun, but would not come out while I was present. It is nice to know he is around though. I keep saying I will take more pictures. Sometimes I am not quick enough, especially with the birds that show up. Other times my brain is not quick enough to say "Wait, I can take a picture".

Sometimes if I take my camera outside with me nothing catches my eye - but go out w/o a camera and there are hundreds of photo-ops.

I am not always quick enough to take pictures, but I think that this morning I have been able to "capture" a young sparrow. I have not yet checked the quality of the photo I took.

I came upon a flock of wild turkeys when coming home from work one day. I quickly stopped and snapped a few pics with my phone. When I got home and looked at the pics all I could see were trees. They either blended in really well or completely disappeared into thin air.

I got a good video of a little snail out in Heather's garden. I posted it to rabadaba and it's in the live pet contest today.

I amnot sure I would call it a pet, but I bet the video was cute.

The most recent pictures I have were taken with my iPad. I can never lay my hands on my camera. What the Sam Hill do I do with it? A turtle sounds like a nice gift. Are you gonna name him? I hope you see him again.

I hope he finds this to be a friendly place to live. I did not name him. Thunder would be a good name--cause old wives' tale says if they bite you, they will not let go until it thunders. My brother was bit by one when he was about four.

I do that at times too. The kids will do something so adorable but if I don't have my phone right beside me I miss it! Other times I don't even think about taking a picture until after then I kick myself for not getting a picture.

If I had thought of it I could have gotten a picture of him, I just did not think.

Do you keep your camera in plain sight... ? if you do ... it might help to remind you to take a photo... but birds seem to "know "when I've got my camera... and don't settle anywhere for long enough....

It takes a while for 'taking a photo' to become an immediate thought whenever you see something photo-worthy. I'm getting better at it.
