Trying to lose weight and it is a struggle

I have had a weight problem, pretty much my whole life. I have lost wieght, and then end up putting it all back on again. The thing of it is, I have been eating all the wrong foods, especially the processed foods.. They are bad for putting weight on people and they put things in them that really aren't good for anyione. The foods are so tempting, and I will admit that I have been tempted to eat a lot of it. I have come to the realization that I shouldn't be eating them if I want to be healthy and lose weight. That is why I am now buying organic as they are healthier than processed foods. Everywhere you look, there are processed foods. I don't have the energy I should have, so I have to change the way I eat. Eating healthy is the best way to go, but it comes with a price, as they can be expensive, but if we want to be healthy and live better, we need to do everything we can to avoid the processed foods. We all need to get back to a plant based diet of fruit and vegetables. I have been buying more than ever lately/ I guess you could say, that I have been taking my health for granted, but I can't keep doing that, or will end up paying for it in the end. Out health is something that we should all be cioncerned about. If anyone is sturggling like I am, then you will have to do everything that you can, to avoid eating all the wrong foods, and get back to eating healthy. I have only just recently starting eating better, so I know it will take time to see results. I know it will be worth it though in the ned.

We are certainly going to ned it too. I have always been heavy my whole life, and I want to change that, as I am getting tired ofbeing overweight. It will happen, but it will take awhile. It wlll take a lot longer than I want it too, so nothing I can do about it at all. I will just have to deal with it.

@infatuatedbby I know I can, as long as I stick to it. I haven't been eating right in so long, that I decided that it is important that I eat the way God intended for us to eat, by getting back to a plant based diet. I am also buying things that don't have any GMO, which is harfmful in itself. I know it will take time, and I just hope that I don't give up, but I don't think I will, as being healthy is way to important to me not to keep going.

@rosekiss Junk foods are the main cause of diseases nowadays. Eliminating them means that we are preventing ourselves from getting those diseases

@Nawsheen you are so right, and I am guilty of buying them, and I have realized that I must stop as they are not doing my body any good at all. I will just have to walk away from that stuff in the store as i need to tell myself i just don't need them.

it is going to take a lot of willpower, as I do value my health, as I want to eat properly so that I don't get sick. As a whole this world is so sickly becasue of the things that people put into their bodies. I shake my head when I see grocer carts full of junk. I am guity of it too, but I have to give the junk food up, and it won't be hard either, as I am finding the taste for them to be despicale.

Depending on how you're doing with this since last year, Valerie found a different way to eat that's working for her. I think it's a type of long-term diet. I try to do Atkins. If I were home for most meals it would be easier. I figure if I pay more for what Im eating of wholesome foods, that less should be spent later on health Carr.

@MarshaMusselman I hope to continue on my wwight loss journey too. I do realize though, that it might bottom out, where I can only lose so much and no more, but I hope that doesn't happen for a while as I do want to get down to a nice size. I have alrweady lost a dress size and then some, and have to buy all new clothers. That is a good thing too, as I have clothes in my closet that I haven't been able to wear until now. It feels good to be able to wear smaller sizes again.

It is really easy to let the food control you instead of you controllig the food. I have deided that I am only going to put good things in my bodfy, and I now I will feel better for having done so.

@birjudanak Most people let food control them, instead of them controlling the food. Once you take control, then you will find that you will be much healthier, and feel better as well. I am hoping that I lose weight too, as I do need to lose wieght badly. It won't happen over night, as I didn't put it on overnight. I just have to continue doing what I am doing, and it wil go off in time.

that is nice to know. as for us here, although my brother sent us canned goods, we still prefer the newly cooked and/or fresh foods. although we have canned peaches and pears, we also still prefer bananas.

I love fruits whether they are in cans or fresh, althiough fresh is better.. When I make smoothies, I use frozen ones that come in bags. It is just easier that way, although I do use fresh bananas, when I need them.

@ridingbet I use coconut milk with water, but I think I have been using a little to much coconut milk as I can taste it and not much else. I will have to cut down how much I use, as I think it will taste better if I just use a little bit, enough to flavor it, but not to much that all I taste is the coconjt milk. It is really a case of trial and error, as I have just starting using cocont mile, and trying to determine hoow much to use. I heard that rice mile is even better in it, so I am going to get some of it and see how it tastes, and I won't use to much of it either.

@Courtlynn It does take willpower to be able to live healthy, but I certainly need to, as I have been eating the wrong kind of foods for so long, that I decided I better do something aout mh health, before it gets the best of me.

For me, eating healthy is way to important to neglect it Not eeryone will feel that way, and that is okay. I don't expect ayone to do what I do, as they can do what they want. For me though, not eating processed food, isn't helping me at all. I am buyng organic whenever I can, which is expensive, but well worth the time to buy them.

I hope you attain your goal! It is very expensive to eat healthy and I crave carbs. I do not like fruits and vegetables at all and have to force myself to eat them. Carbs are the culprit for most overweight people. When you eat carbs you get hungrier faster because they digest so quickly, whereas protein digests slowly and you don't get hungry as soon after eating.

Yea, I know that tool. Most of the foods out there are full of carbs, and calories. What amazes me is the junk that people put in their carts. I will admit that i have done that too though, and I realize now that I should have eaten better all along. Getting healthy and staying that way is the way to go, and I know I will be able to do it, as it will take time.

I have been fighting weight gain for the last couple of decades.. I seem to add a few lbs or more every year. I found out I have a hypothyroid been taking meds for that for years now.. but it hasn't helped. I sometimes lose a few and then gain it back. this week I have been going through an extremely stressful time and I was able to lose 6 pounds. Basically because I am so full of anxiety that eating food or the idea of it is making me sick.. I don't suggest to anyone to lose weight this way though.

@rosekiss WOW. THAT'S GREAT! I've lost almost 7 pounds now. I am basically eating 1 meal (at work), A sandwich with some yummy flatbread that is only 100 calories and maybe a side of a handful of chips or a cup of applesauce.. Sometimes just the sandwich.. and a cup or two of tea. At home I will just drink a meal replacer drink... mostly because the stress makes me not even want to think about eating. by after noon I might have some fruit with a mozzerella string cheese stick or a handful of peanuts.. and always lots of water. I have been taking meds just to try to fall asleep or my mind is racing and i cant fall asleep.. I just want all of this nightmare to be over..

I agree with you on that, as that is the wrong way to lose weight. I am not eating as much as I used to, and not snacking betwen meals, and I am losing weight too. I do need to lose a lot and at one time I was around 260 lbs. Now, I am at 218.5 lbs, so I am doing really well. I still have quite a bit to lose and it will tke time to get it off. I didnt put it on overnight, and I won't get it off fast either. I do intend to keep doing what I have been though, and I will lose what I need to, in time.

I am starting to eat more healthy now, as I haven't been eating like I shoud for the longest time, and I realized that I am not helping my body at all. Now that I have started eating better, I now that eventually, I will lose weight and will be sleping much better. It will take time though, as I didn't gain weight over night, and I won't lose it overnight. I just have to keep at it, and I intend to do just that.

@DianneN Thank you. It is nice talking to you again. Now tha it is summer, I will be in and out most of the time, as I am sure it will be the same with most in here. It is the time for summer vacations, and doing work outside.I just don't get out in the heat I just can't take it, nor can I take a lot of cold either. I like a happy medium, and hopefully, we will get that one of these days.

I am at fault for buying those frozen meals or a can of something from time to time. My advice is " stay away from the grocery store." Go to the weekly farmers market or a produce stand, get off dairy products they have a high fat content.

I don't use regular mil anymore, as I use almond milk for my cereal. It is delicious and the cereal is organic too.. It is more expensive, but it is worth it in the end.

You need meat in your diet too! Don't forget the meat, and there are organic meats. Our grocery store sells them, and they arent actually that much more expensive than the other kinds

I am not eating meat anymre, and I do know thery do have organic meats, but then I do hesitate to buy those a well, as I don't like the way they are processed. . It is the processing that really bothers me. I don't need meat as I feel that I can get my protein by other means.
