Do You Do Your Own Home Improvement Projects?

I've finally chosen the color I want for my bedroom walls. Gray! Yay! It took me forever and dozens of paint card samples to decide. I want to paint the ceiling first (white) before I get started on the trim and the walls. It's a big project but I'll take my time and get a section done at a time.
I should have started on it already but I'm behind on yard work. I managed to get my gardens planted before we seemed to have rain every single day in May. I still have brush to remove and bushes to trim and leaves (still soggy) to pick up. The pollen has been pretty bad too.
I thought of hiring someone to do the painting but I think I'll get some satisfaction out of doing it myself. Do you work on your own home projects or do you hire someone?

My house needs to be painted on the outside too but it will have to wait. That I'll hire someone for.

You must be renting. Well, at least the landlord picks up the tab when something has to be done.

@suziecat7 yes we are. But they dont do anything around here. Takes them days to weeks to come by when something needs to be done and even then they dont do it right

Congrats on your project...post pics when you finish. My husband does all our home projects (I'm the head Go-fer.) We're planning to remodel my bathroom next.

@suziecat7 Well, fun isn't exactly the first word that comes to mind. LOL. I've decided that if a couple can survive doing home projects together, they can survive anything.

I try to do whatever I can myself or with the help of family members. Hiring someone is usually a last resort. I'm sure your room will look nice with the grey walls

@suziecat7 my daughter was just saying this afternoon that she wants to paint her bedroom and when I asked what color she said grey! I told her I had just read your post

When it comes to painting, not that I'm crazy about it, I've never had anyone else do it. If I can do it myself then I'll do it.

Your May sounds a lot like our May. The last few days have been horrible with wind blowing dust and pollen everywhere. Yellow pine pollen on everything. It rained hard for about 10 minutes today which helped clear the air.
I do try to do my own home projects.

My boyfriend does most of it himself or at least likes to think that he can do it but really can't most of the time. Unless it is painting or redecorating then no I don't do it.
