The nap, that is. I honestly tried. I laid down on the comfy guest bed and Princess joined me. I rested. I just have so much on my mind to do that it is hard to be still. I did some mowing so that I felt I could put some bedding out on the clothes line to air without it getting grassy. I mowed the front. I also lined out a place where I want to make a flower bed of strictly violets. Well, maybe I will also add Johnny jump ups, as they were always my favorite as a kid. The violets grow wild around my yard. My sister has done this and it is very pretty looking. Much better than the bark chips in the area I am going to use. The birds are pleased as mowing disturbs bugs for them to eat, and shakes out seeds from plants. Right now I am having iced tea. Then either a snack or lunch. My headache is much better. I am sure to sleep well tonight. The image is from a meal at the Oxford Mill, a year ago on Mother's Day. The high school students run this restaurant in an old grain mill to learn business operations.

Yeah naps arent my thing anymore either. Can never take one. Always something to do or running in my head. Glad you got to mow and are relaxing now.

You've been busy and should get a good night's sleep, especially with all that fresh air.

@GardenGerty Being outside is good for that. I think that's why I like being in front of the window as I work on the computer. I might not be outside, but I can see what's going on out there.

Getting the rest itself was good for me, though. I was very satisfied with my day yesterday.

It was very cool, hubby had made the reservations to surprise me, as he knew that I get blue when my kids do not communicate on Mother's Day. That is how they are, but he likes to distract me.

@TiarasOceanView That is how their dad was about all holidays. This year I talked to daughter the day before, plus we were e mailing quite a bit. Son, I talked to two days later in person and got a big hug. He said he thought about me but not at the right time.

That meal looked like it was very enjoyable. Who heads the restaurant, an economics teacher? Well it's best to go ahead and get everything done. Perhaps you'll tire yourself out and make it an early night tonight.

I am not totally sure. It was a very nice meal with chicken. I love that the kids have this opportunity. There is a school district about ten miles from here where students run a green house. School seems more interesting to me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum In my high school there was FBLA, and the extent that I saw of their activities was to go to a local bakery and get "long johns" to sell on Friday for a nickel a piece to raise money for the club, Future Business Leaders of America. When my kids were in school it may have been a sack of flour, or maybe a programmable "Baby Wait Awhile" doll. That may have been later.

@GardenGerty It does sound like a lot of kids in the communities around you are given opportunities to experience hands on things that will help them in their future. We didn't have that when I was in school. The most we had was the egg / baby we had to take care of.

Violets is a nice addition and very pretty. I remember Johnny Jump Ups. Just not sure they sell them around here. We had flowers growing for a bit til the neighbor kids broke one of the Big flower pots that some were in and killed them. We have not tried since.

My sister has the violas or johnny jump ups wild in her front yard as well as some in her garden . I used to call them Johnny jump outs because they often left the garden and moved into the yard. Sorry your flower pot got broken.

I was so tired today that I couldn't wait to lay down. After I picked my son up from school and brought him home, I had 30 minutes of time before I had to go pick my daughter up from school. My son said there was no way I could take a nap in that short of time. I proved him wrong. I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow, and about 15 minutes later I woke up completely refreshed.

@GardenGerty I feel more refreshed taking a 10-15 minute power nap than I do when I get a full night's sleep! I love power naps!

We have snakes in our yard. I like them better than mice in my house. They seem to keep them away.
