Man mistaken vegetable for flowers

This is a very cute news that got viral on Twitter. A man have a minor argument with his girlfriend and to make amends he tried to buy her flowers. He saw these beautiful looking purple blossoms in a grocery store thinking they are lilacs. He gave the "lilacs" to his girlfriend and the rest is internet history. In fairness Kale is a delicious vegetable that can be used for making salads, stir fries and even the famous crispy kale chips. The woman was laughing all day because of the "flowers" her boyfriend gave her. To the ladies here, How would you feel if your beloved bought you a bouquet of Kale thinking they are flowers?

In fairness to those kales, they do look pretty. I think I will bake some tomorrow and turn them into chips.

. I would have thought he was giving me a hint to eat healthier . I don't know how he would have thought the purple kale were flowers - especially since he probably found them in the produce section. I'd almost have to wonder if he was being cheap (kale would be cheaper than flowers ).

@CaptAlbertWhisker But none of our produce comes in a vase or wrapped in a plastic sleeve . Yah, some could find it insulting . . . but you would have to give him points for creativity! We buy this purple kale all the time, can't fool me .

Some produce section though sell flowers. So that might have gave him the idea. He is lucky that his girlfriend didn't interpret it as she needs to eat healthier. Some women might find it insulting.

I've been wanting to grow some of that in my garden just for decoration for years now and I have not had the opportunity - it is prettier than a lot of flowers.

@CaptAlbertWhisker yea, I want to get some of the colorful cabbage in the fall to plant. I think they are so pretty. I would never mistake them for lilacs though!

We use multi colored kale to decorate the gardens in winter. The flowers do not bloom in winter, but the kale looks nice.

I know the colorful kales are bitter, so most people use them for decorations only. I wont mind eating bitter though.

I don't like kale not even one little bit so even though I would have to appreciate that he thought he bought me flowers I wouldn't be happy it was kale. I would prefer any other vegetable, anything but kale. He would be eating it.
