Thrift Shop - Score!

I usually visit a nearby thrift store about once a month mostly to restock my book supply. I enjoy scavenging through the shelves and seem to always find some gems. This time I had a more targeted shopping plan. I needed new work pants. I'm not much of a clothes shopper and despise the malls and chain stores. So I crossed my fingers and hoped that I would find something at the thrift store that would fit me. Pay dirt. Score. With little effort I chose four pairs of pants in my size to try on. Two of them were perfect - they were like new and fit very well. I also spotted a blouse (though I really didn't need it) that I thought was just beautiful. So for $22.00, I walked out with two pairs of pants, a shirt, seven paperbacks and a wonderful Christmas bone-shaped tin for my dog. Yay! Do you ever shop at local thrift stores? Have you ever found something great there?
"You Can't Always Get What You Want" is a song by the Rolling Stones on their 1969 album Let It Bleed. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was name...

I rarely go to the thrift shop anymore because the closest one has closed down. But yeah, isn't it great when that happens? I did manage to get a nice black winter coat with a velvet hood for $25 once about a year or so ago though at the thrift store..I was so pleased as it is hard to find new. And then it would cost several hundred. Great you got a good bargain.

Congratulations! You were lucky. I only take things there but don't buy anything there. I can't really explain why not.

We do not have thrift shops in the area where I live. When I need something I usually wait until the stores offer the left items at big discounts, usually my very small size is among the leftovers and I can get things at 75% discount on the original price.

Yes, small sizes are usually left over - lucky you to be that small and find good prices too :))

I've occasionally gone in for books, but not very often. You got some great bargains for your $22.

Yes, I was pretty happy. Especially since I found pants that fit just right - not an easy task at a thrift store.

I'm a pretty standard size but clothes are so finicky. I avoid clothes shopping and only buy when my present wardrobe are close to rags :((

I do look for more the unusual and collectible items. Mostly I take lots of stuff there, not sure why I always have so much stuff to get rid of
