Another One Bites the Dust!

I don't remember now when I joined Bukisa. It was certainly some years ago and I believe that I only ever published two articles on it. I had quite forgotten about the site until I received an email today thanking me for being a "valued Bukisa user" (little chance of that!) and notifying me that it will be closing down on 6th July 2017 "due to the limited traction it gets these days." The two articles I published don't seem to have had any comments and I don't believe that I earned anything at all from them. Bukisa was founded by "Simon G." who also founded ArticleBase (another one which has gone, as far as I know) in 2005. Were you ever a member of this site and have you any experiences of it (good or bad) to relate?

Yes, I was. I also posted only a few reviews. I never warmed up to the site. I didn't get an email about the closure of the site. I'm insulted now.

I've only been active here and on the other site that disappeared. It's amazing to have learned how many sites have met their demise lately.

Long time since I visited that site,not after they stopped paying. I have been a member of that site and they used to pay regularly but stopped paying a few years ago. So,now they are closing down! Naturally noone would post articles if they dont pay ..Wonder what happened to Triond ?

I never heard of Bukisa. There are many sites closing their doors in the last few weeks and I am sure that more will follow.

@owlwings I got the email as well, but I can't remember what I published on there. It was probably book reviews. I wrote a lot of those back in the day.

I had also joined Bukisa. I cannot recall how and why. I also received an email yesterday in my mail box that they are going to close the site.

I have not heard of both Bukisa and ArticleBase.I am a member of Wikinut ,besides bubblews ,Personapaper .Now Mylot is the only site I visit on a regular basis.

I was a member, I removed most of my articles when they stopped paying. My friend Marc Philippe Babineau was on there I remember. We worked together on Helium as well.

I thought Bukisa had gone down a long time ago. I think I was briefly there ages ago and it wasn't profitable.

Heard about it, but never joined. Your discussion made me think of a guy who set up some similar sites. His wife got some sort of health problem so in the end he just became quiet and the page closed down, something like 'pay per post' (during bubblews time). I am curious about what happens to him and his wife.

I don't recall that one. Do you remember the name of the site/sites? There were a number of Wordpress-based sites which started up around that time looking very honest and reasonable but which seem to have faded out. One was called MilkTheBlog and I think another was called PostAnyArticle.

@YrNemo No, I don't know what happened. I didn't follow very closely but I remember that he seemed like a nice guy. I think that the site probably didn't do as well as he had hoped. I haven't visited it for ages and don't know whether it's still open.

Nothing 'local' about it, as far as I know. It was a fairly popular and legitimate site for a while.

You're right about biting the dust- so many have gone to that end. I would love a really good site where you can earn well for good efforts in articles etc. If you ever hear of such a site let me know.

Never heard of Bukisa before this post. I dabbled in a few sites several years ago, wrote several articles, never got paid and the sites didn't last long. I can't even remember their names. I haven't written for any other sites except myLot since HeliumNetwork.com and Bubblews closed down.
