Did You Have Pink Eyes?

If you did, how did you cure it? My right eye is pink . I got this when I was still in the Philippines more than a month ago. I have an appointment for the eye doctor but the waiting time is too long. Imagine my appointment will be in September. Pink eyes is also called conjunctivitis. The cause of this for me is when I got less sleep when my father was in his death bed and during the wake. I bought eye ointment for my right eye but the pink color comes and go. The other day, I was searching on you tube how to cure pink eye and found what I have to do. Himalayas salt and water solution is the advice. I had a hard time looking for himalayas salt but at last I found it in the bio shop in the city. Now my eye is getting better everyday. How about you? Have you experienced having pink eye?

Yes, I had experienced it occasionally. I think this is a spreading disease, so people wear black glasses when attacked by this disease. In my case, I consulted an eye doctor and putting drops in my eyes then I become alright.

@thelme55 That is ok, but for eyes problems better to consult the eye specialist.

@thelme55 hahah! yes, ah! there is a notion before that sore eyes can be contagious when you stare at somebody. they say the germs of the sore eyes will travel to the other person.

@ridingbet yes, I have heard about that but my pink eye was cause by the bursting of a vein due to lack of sleep and it was not contagious. It is okay now and that both eyes are of the same normal color now.

You need antibiotics for this condition. Since you have to wait so long try organic apple cider vinegar diluted in warm sterile water on a clean cotton ball to wash the eye..Just a suggestion..it is what I do for my dry eye too. It works.

I would love to try that. At the moment the hi alagang salt solution is making my eyes well. I have seen that apple cider vinegar solution treatment in you tube. That is one way of curing pink eyes too as I have searched it online. Thanks @OceansTiaraView

Never heard of that as a cure, and never heard a doctor making you wait days + when have pink eye.. The only thing i knoe is you see the doctor then they give you eye drops. As kids get it alot. Its also contagious so you arent supposed to touch or rub your eyes.

That is because we have only 2 ophthalmologists in our city and there are lots of patients @Courtlynn. If it's an emergency, I could go to the hospital.

I had conjunctivitis in the past, it is extremely contagious and you feel like you have sand in your eye. This kind of disease needs antibiotics.

@thelme55 Do not worry it's not conjunctivitis. It is possible a little vein that bursted. Mom had the same problem.

I did not have a feeling of sand in my eyes @LadyDuck. I had only the colour of pink and it looked that one of the eye veins bursted out. Not even pain but I felt that I was crying the whole day. Anyway, I cried everyday during the wake of my father. Even until now when I think of him. Well, my eyes should take a rest any how.

It's okay now @cacay. The color of my eyes are the same now. I put a pinch of himalaya salt into 100 gram of water. Mixed it well and used the small glass and put my pink eye on it and I kept on blinking so the salt water solution could get in. It's like washing your eyes with water, you know.

I've had conjunctiveitis years ago. My doctor took me immediately, since it is highly contagious and could harm the eye if left untreated. I'm glad you were able to cure yours.

I don't think what I have is contagious @DianneN because nobody from my contact persons are infected ever since I was at home in the Philippines and here in Germany. Yes, my eye is well now. It looks already like before. I have just taken a selfie of both of my eyes. Yay! I am glad it is looking good. But still I have to give my eyes a rest from reading.

Is that the same with sore eyes (red) or just similar? I mean reading the post, it's creepy for me already. Okay, that's it no more sleeping late nights for me. In fact I've been struggling to sleep early.

I think sore eyes is different and that is highly contagious @Letranknight2015. Drink hot chocolate milk before going to bed. It helps in sleeping.

Pink eyes?! Or red eyes? My eyes never turned pink but when I was still roaming around in the Philippines, I frequently got sticky red eyes. I used eye-cleansing eye-mo. It worked . . and my friends kept telling me to stop being "peeping tom!"

. So that was why you got your eyes red or pink. I used eye-mo too when I was still in the Philippines but I forgot to bring it with me home to Germany.

I have never had it but my brother's girlfriend's son got it while I was babysitting them. She just packed some kind of eye drops in his bag for me to put in his eye every few hours. I only had to do it for a day or two and it went away but don't know how long he had it before I had to watch him. Her daughter also had an ear infection at the time and I had to put drops in her ear as well. Her kids don't have the best immune systems but that is what happens when you eat a diet full of junk and don't get any exercise at all.

Yes, @Kandae11. That is the waiting time in Germany unless you are in a big city. 2-3 months waiting time. If I have pain I would go to the hospital as it would be emergency, but I don't have. Thankfully, no.

Never share hankies, towel or eye drops. Wash your eyes with warm water, dab try. Use eye drop to dab into the corner of your eye, thrice a day. Remember to wipe off the bottle that touched your eyes. Avoid sunlight and dust
