Do you ever go overboard buying stuff for yourself?

I know that money cant buy love (well, actually it can, but that's another story), but I very occasionally go on these incredible spending sprees, buying stuff for myself.
Just the other day I was in Walmart with a kid client when I spied a reading lamp that I really liked. It had an "old-schoolish" screen, except that each surface was shaped as a square, so it matched the Danish Modern aesthetic of my living space.
I splurged and bought it for $29! I put my old reading lamp near the dumpster for someone to grab, and then went over the top when we visited Big Five Sporting Goods and bought myself a nice pair of LA Gear sneakers for $22 (on sale).
I spend $51 dollars on myself for something other than food or guitars in one day! Have you ever done such a thing? What's funny is that I feel no guilt!

Sounds like you got practical stuff for yourself so I wouldn't say you went overboard. I do go overboard occasionally on books for myself but try to rein in my spending

@infatuatedbby Does it remind you of my incredible Danish Modern speakers?

Yup, it sounds like me when I go to Family Dollar and buy a pair of shoes for $8 @TheHorse . Or the local thrift store for a lamp for $20. Geez, we're big spenders, aren't we?

@nanette64 I most enjoy doing things that don't cost a lot of money. But I do like the fact that my two main hobbies, music and woodworking, make money.

@TheHorse One things for sure, if a guy wanted to hang around with me, he sure wouldn't have to spend much.

I cannot remember spending for myself with the last 3 years actually. Since I had my girls, I have been buying more for them than myself. But if I had to buy something for myself, it would most likely be a pair of nike. I love a pair of rubber shoes even if i'll just wear them to go to the grocery.

I never have and have never really had enough money to go overboard with shopping for myself. I have had kids though that have made me waste money shopping for them!

The only places I ever really go a little crazy is Amazon or Dollar Tree. Oh and sometimes the thrift store.

I have no extra finances now but when I lived in NYC in my younger days I used to love going on shopping sprees.

@TheHorse I sure have and even more. If I could spend I would of course depending on what the items were and if I could use them.
