A Ride in the Heat

A good day it's been so far. It's been plenty hot all day. In fact, it's supposed to hit 89° today, which is the type of weather in which I thrive.
This morning, I took a 12 1/2 mile ride, and with the heat, I rode hard. I now have 40 miles in, with only 996 miles to go to hit my annual goal of at least 1000 miles a year. And I'm now ranked 2011 on Bikejournal.com. This might just be the fastest I've ever broke the 2000 ranking,which could happen on my next ride.
Anyway, the photo was taken on VA property in Sheridan, Wyoming, on the day I bought the bike. Hard to believe I've had it seven years. It was expensive (you don't want to know what I spent, lets just say I've had cars that cost less. As they say, you know you're from Colorado when your bike is worth more than the car it's on.)
Anyway, I'm just happy building up my mileage. Hope your day is going equally as good as mine.

Make use of your good weather and keep pedaling. Those "endorsements" (lol) are riding on your ranking higher.

Yes, but I also get it really muddy sometimes, especially the bottom. But it still looks good, despite a couple wrecks while mountain biking.

@much2say - Oh yes, it was definitely worth the money. I had money at the time, so I bought the most expensive bike that fit me that I could afford.

@ilocosboy - I joined in the early 2000's. It's helpful as it allows you to not only track your mileage, but also to compete with other cyclists.

I actually prefer riding in the heat. For some reason, I ride stronger when it's hot.

Oh, I always enjoy a good bike ride. Unless it's raining or really windy. It sucks getting caught out in that.
