As a volunteer Diabetes advocate,
I urge all my diabetic friends to remember
to check your blood sugar often.
Let your meter be a good friend to
you as it helps you keep control of
your blood sugar and also shows what
foods Are good for your control and
what wll really shoot up your blood sugar.
You can then avoid those foods and]
replace them with foods you know you can
handle.

always good advice, ms. patsie. i wish more folks'd tend to such, but sadly they don't. either coz insurance'll not pay fer the strips needed, 'r they've jest 'come complacent :( there's a free glycemic index available online which lets folks know which veggies and schtuff 've the least 'mount. one can swap out jest one lower g.i. food per meal with one 'f higher content to balance such out.

A rely on meter is 9.00 at walmart the strips are $10 for 50 and $17 for 100, that is cheap without insurance.

That is the hard part. Especially when you are hungry knowing what foods will affect you the most, and do you have enough medications to help you deal with them.

@Hatley That is good. Will be glad if they can ever figure out something to get mine down and keep it down. I am still all over the board.

@Hatley it's gotten so hot I'm not sure what I am going to do, pondering swimming when the pool opens a couple days a week, but that costs.

I do check mine daily, when I figure up my monthly bills my testing strips is included, I look at it as a bill.
