When your toddler throws up and you don't have your baby bag...

We went to my kids doctor today to have a quick check up and oh boy were we not ready for a throw up at the middle of the check up. Prior to leaving the car, I asked my husband if he wanted to bring the baby bag along but mentioned it would be quick so we opted to leave it in the car. So anyway in the middle of the doctors visit, my 2 year old looked like she was gonna throw up and within 5 seconds it all came out. We were stuck without any tissue of some sort to wipe out anything. It was terrible and we had to go all the way to the car to get the bag while my husband looked for a restroom to wash everything out. Did anything similar ever happen to you where you are stuck having nothing to wipe some gooey off of your own clothes or arms? Or when your child throws up in public and you are alone and have nothing to clean yourself or both of you?

NOpe we didn't have that sort of problem. Except with my uncle in law when he had to go to a dealership just to poop.

sometimes when we have to go we just have to go... some people, especially some elderly people have problems controlling or holding when they need to do #1 or #2.

once in a jeepney, a drunk passenger started throwing up out the window. i had a roll of tissue in my bag because i had a cough and a cold so i took it out to wipe the droplets on my arms and also gave him some to clean himself up.

Eww, it's bad enough when it's our own kid's mess, but it's far worse when it's some adult stranger's vomit that we have to deal with...

That sounds terrible @hereandthere. Just seeing someone throw up is bad enough but to have pieces of it on you is bad. Hope you washed your arms after you got down.

I'm very fortunate that my son never threw up anywhere in public when he was young. So I've never really experienced anything like that but we were always ready with all the stuff everywhere we go. Our car was always full of baby things and we were always on the go. So my son is actually used to commuting a lot from one place to another.

Good for you! We're usually equipped with all the stuff needed but at that moment we were caught off guard. Thankfully I am very organize with my bag for the children.

When children are involved there will always be unexpected instances such as today. Tomorrow is another day and things will be better. Its okay for these to happen, its what you do with the experiences what will make you better tomorrow.

I remember having to use a baby hat that my son was wearing to scoop up the gooey stuff then rushing to the nearest restroom to throw everything away and clean up some more...

Oh man! That's bad but at least you didn't have to clean up the mess. We had to call the cleaner to clean the spots of vomit on the floor.

@sishy7 I have one where my son vomitted right when you get off the escalator. It was a nice Mall at Singapore and I couldn't find the maintenance guys to have it cleaned. So everybody were stepping on it and I couldn't do a thing.

@sublime03 It was at a theme park and we told a staff there - maintenance were called and promptly hosed down the spot...

This happened *during* the visit? The doctor or their assistant didn't give you some tissues to clean up? I can't believe it.

Yes during the visit and the doctor didn't give any tissue and the assistant went out. It was the worse thing ever! I hardly leave my bag and this one time I thought I could walk around without it, thats when I need it the most.

@MALUSE Well she's been good to me and my kids for the past 12 years. I like how she took care of my kids well except for today.
