He didn't like my surprise..

Last weekend a friend of mine told me Rob Schneider was at the local comedy club. My husband and I are big fans of Adam Sandler, who typically works closely with Rob Schneider, so I thought my husband would really enjoy the show. I was going to buy the tickets and surprise him, but I had to warn him as typically he works his 2nd job on the weekends so I told him to make sure he got the night off. He insisted that I tell him my plans, so I did, and he actually was not at all interested. I was still pretty interested though, but had trouble finding someone else to go with me, so eventually hubby caved and said he'd go. We'd never been to the comedy club before, but we did end up enjoying ourselves a lot. I will say that Rob Schneider wasn't nearly as funny as I'd hoped. Nobody laughed much, so it wasn't just my opinion. The guy that opened for him though was hysterical! I'd love to go see him again, his name was Monty Franklin, you can find him on Youtube.. so darn funny! I ended up getting free tickets to go see another comedy show, because they threw out my food that I wanted boxed up.. so we will have another chance to go. I just can't use the tickets on a big name like Rob Schneider. Do you go to the comedy club? Have you ever been disappointed by a big name comedian that wasn't as funny as you thought?

Comedy is much more difficult than drama. It is very hard to make people laugh. I have seen a few movies where I laugh like mad, but many where I cry.

Yeah everyone has a different sense of humor, but it's not too hard to make people sad.

i'm sorry he wasn't as good as you hoped. and that they threw out your food. shame. I've been some comedy shows, but mostly liked all of them.

We still enjoyed our night, even if he wasn't as funny as we would have liked.

That's so cool! I have never been to one, but I'd love to go. I just don't know anyone who would go with me. I look forward to hearing about your next trip.

The no-name comedians are fairly cheap to see, I could get 2 admissions on Groupon for $15.. but of course Rob Schneider was $30 a ticket.. still not awful.

That sounds like a lot of fun. We didn't have a comedy club in our old area that we lived in, and here, I'm not too sure if there is one or not. But if there is we'll have to check it out.

We love going to comedy clubs, especially in New York City and a couple near us. However, we usually go to see the biggies, like Jay Leno, etc. Our most favorite was poor George Carlin. We saw him in Florida and CT.

Hubby saw him once a long time ago. I'd never gone to a comedy show before, unless you count Jeff Dunham, the ventriloquist. We saw him probably 10 years ago...

@katsmeow1213 I'm not sure who Jeff Dunham is, but I never saw a ventriloquist anywhere except on TV.
