Composting Bins Out Today

Hello Abby, Yes, they do pick up compost every Monday. They have already done it and now I have to go pick up the bins and put them back in the garage.

@marlina Is that a service included in your taxes?

@AbbyGreenhill They have curbside recycling here in Oregon too, and in the Tucson area of Arizona (my niece lives there). Here, in the Portland area anyway, the method of payment varies. In my trailer park, we have bins that are used by everyone and emptied once a week. This service is included in our rent. Portland homeowners have curbside service but I'm unsure whether it's covered individually or by taxes. When I lived in Texas, the availability of recycling varied, depending on where I lived. I kept a compost pile wherever I had room to do that and recycled at a center when one was nearby.

@Rollo1 , Wow! A ghost coming back here Where have you been all that time? The compost also includes the food scraps.

@AbbyGreenhill NO, we are not allowed to put food in the regular trash, has to be in compost bins.

@marlina You don't put food in with the regular trash?

@marlina Oh, I see.They must be used as fertilizer.

The compost bins are different, they have leaves, branches, vegetables and fruits peels etc.

I was "out of circulation" enough lately, today I feel much better and I am very grateful for that.

It was a lovely morning that early but now way too hot.

@marlina I had to bring to the recycle bins several glass bottles and jars, I have checked the time we must respect silence, so I was able to get out at 7 this morning and I walked there with my bottles, for a few days I have not this thing to do.

2 weeks is a long time to wait in a warm climate.

@marlina It's not too good in the summer here either, especially for kitchen waste. They collect that fortnightly too, on the alternate week to the compost and paper bins.

The early mornings have always been my favorite time of the day. The best.

@Marilynda1225 It is pretty hot too here right now. I had the bad idea to go to the shopping mall. Came back home wiped out.
