Don't know what to think...

I'm always lost for words....but theres so much in my mind!! I want to express it in words but too afraid to do so. I don't like offending people....and it gets so tiring sometimes....i mean pleasing people. Is it normal to think yhis way? As a Christian been taught to always feel positive about things and don't get tired doing the right thing....but sometimes i just wanna be a little bit bad! I mean like yesterday my sister yelled at my daughter for being too noisy, just wanna shout at her and tell her that its normal for kids to be noisy! But instead I told my daughter to just understand her cause shes having difficulty in taking care of her newly born baby. But is that even right? I just don't know anymore what to think....

You should stand up for yourself and your family. If someone gets on your nerves or annoys you, it's your right to say so. If you don't, people won't love you more but consider you weak and trample on you.

@HeartBM You are a role model for your children. They'll copy your behaviour. If you always give in only to be seen as nice, they'll be the same.

@MALUSE thanks for reminding me this. Just recently I've started to realize that I think more of other people more than my children. But Im slowly working on it.

Did yelling make things better? She just added to the noise. She could have used a better approach. Were you visiting your sister or do you live together?

I think you did the right thing. But I think your sister shouldn't yelled at her niece. She can talk to her niece in a nice way. Not necessarily yelling at her.

I think your sister was exhausted. But then, she doesn't need to shout to the child. It can be done in low tone voice.

Now that you mention it, I think you have a point. She often lacks sleep because of her 9 month old baby. Thanks for makin me realize this.

thanks Courtney. Yah I thought about that, but the way that I am now, I'm still considering how to do it. I mean in a way it would not hurt alot.

@HeartBM just tell her, kids are loud. And its your child you'll tell her when to quiet down if she needs to.

You're only human and everyone has their limits. Sometimes you need to yell and be a bit stern at times to get your point across.

@HeartBM You shouldn't hate yourself or be so timid. Just try to be a bit more open.

You should talk with your sister too. She's your sister and I am sure she will understand your feeling especially that she is also a mother. Soon, she will realized that kids are kids- just make her understand in a nice way.

You can make others listen by force. They will learn by experience.
