"Poo Poo Face" in Children TV Program: Is it appropriate?

I was watching Nickelodeon with my little niece. Then, there is a short quiz pop out on the TV screen. It was describing the “poo poo face” and I was a bit shocked when I heard this. I was telling my little niece that it is bad to use this slang term. I assured her that it wasn’t good to describe someone with such. It is so bizarre to watch a “Baby Gaga Poo Poo Face” on youtube. I think we really need to guide the children on watching TV or even on youtube. “What’s going on here?” “Do you think it is appropriate to use this term in a children TV program?”

there are some parents who baby-talk their toddlers, and they describe the number two thing as poo-poo.

@Shavkat parents should not baby talk, because the kids have the attitude to carry on what they learn during childhood years.

The important is to let children know that this is not appropriate and something they must not say. Sooner or later they will hear those words, they must know that they are not good.

@Shavkat Yes it is, it's not good to let kids watch the programs alone.

yes, i agree.I do not approve of the content on most of the cartoon channels either. They do not contribute to value addition of any sort to the kids.

That's just awful. Kids are exposed to so much nonsense these days, sadly.

It is totally nonsense to hear this slang term. I am not sure why some terms are being used in children TV programs.

@Shavkat I watched it. It's just stupid. Perhaps an attempt at adult humor that misses the mark. I wouldn't let a kid watch it.

All you have to do is turn the channel. But for kids older than 6, they should know better to not say it just because they hear it. And if so, it shouldnt be an issue to hear or read it on tv.

I do agree on that. I had explained to her about and she seems so smart to know the bad impact of it.

Not at all no. They should not be showing this kind of thing. Okay it seems funny but to teach very young children its not the done thing. Not my idea of a young child´s program at all.

@Shavkat I think that they could have used other characters but I am not writing or making the Series. Just my opinion.

Youtube is the worst place to find entertainment for children. Download Netflix kids instead. Youtube is bombarded with those inappropriate videos targeted to children like those Spiderman with Elsa parody videos.

It is not funny and it is certainly something no one here would let children watch this. Parents sometimes don't think clearly.

It is really a mind-blowing to realize how some children TV programs to allow this inappropriate slang term. IT can be possible if teaching a child to use the toilet but not to describe a face.

I think it is not good for the child to use it in describing same age children. It will be the source of misunderstanding.

Kid repeat what they hear, and making sure they don't hear inappropriate language for as long as possible is key. They must be told not to use this language, although to young kids, it's bathroom words they think are funny.

This doesn't sound very appropriate at all. I think we do need to monitor what our children watch.

I agree. It so alarming that children TV programs allowed this slang term. At this point, I also informed the parents to monitor their child in watching some programs on TV or youtube.

I thought the video was funny. I think my grandchildren can tell the difference between humor (albeit toilet humor) and derogatory verbal abuse. They know I won't tolerate name-calling or cursing.

No, I don't think it's appropriate. Kids should not be encourged to use such terms, which this is doing. I was shocked to hear my granddaughter begin singing something about "Mr. Potty Pants." Apparently her other grandmother had taken her to some kind of movie that had that in it. I didn't say anything (her parents thought it was funny), but I think it's crude.

Even i feel these cartoon programs has become so inappropriate for kids. There is so much violence, slangs, inappropriate behavior shown. That surely has a bad impact on young minds.
