How often do you use Facebook? Are you addicted to it?

I remember when my students asked me to create a profile on Facebook and so I did. (And I also remember I didn't want to because I had so many difficult times on defunct Orkut.)
The other day at school students came to me: "teacher, teacher, I found you and added you; accept me, accept me". And there I was accepting every single student on Facebook. One week later: "teacher, teacher, like my posts, please like my posts". And there I was "liking" everything to please my students. I was a slave, and I had to like everything from every single student, otherwise, they came to me with a horrible face saying "you liked Jennie's posts but didn't like mine".
Oh my God, that thing didn't end and so I said: alright, I will not follow anyone of you, I will take everyone out and will study Facebook to know what is it all about, and this was in 2006 (as far as I can remember). After this holocaust (me cutting everyone from my list), I decided to give it a try and I was like number one fan of Facebook and I couldn't live without it.
I don't remember the day I quit visiting it, I just did. I stopped posting, commenting, voting, liking, and everything else, as things were so dumb sometimes, that I refused to give my time to that. Once in a while, I go and search for things related to crafting, writing and drawing.
Do you visit the Facebook page often? How do you use the site?

This is such an interesting story and experience. I am not addicted to Facebook and never have been. I like it and utilize it but I want no part of the drama. I do not put all my personal business on it or post updates. Sometimes I will look at the news feed and exchange messages. There has to be balance with things.

I use it everyday, mostly to relax on a game. I have 2 games I like and so at times I will leave the page open to one and when I take a break I will play. I also use it to keep in touch with family and friends. My brother lives in NC and my one daughter in FL. I made a family page to discuss holidays and get togethers. I also belong to some groups on things that interest me or health groups so when I get bored or just feel l need a break I go read. I found one with my health condition and the girls there are great for advice and support.

@manandezo With 8 kids and 20 grandkids it is easier to see things in black and white when we are trying to do a get together or Christmas or such. I still talk to them on the phone at least 3 times a week. =)

I am using Facebook for bookmarking and marketing. When used properly, it can help us with our online businesses so to speak. I gained so much from facebook more than any other social media. Our profile can do a lot of things. We just need to learn how to use it to our advantage.

This is nice when you are away from the family and need to talk to them. That is a good reason for the usage as well! =)

Not going to lie, I use Facebook a lot. I use it to play games, to share pictures, to keep in touch with others. I use it so that my family across the country can see what I am up to and feel as though they can still be a part of my life. Granted I do not use it excessively like some do. I remember some teachers in high school who had a policies that were basically don't friend me till you graduate, after graduation its all fair game.

When I first went on facebook I thought it was boring because did not know the right people and then later on I found people that felt the way I did and would go on a lot. Nowadays I go in in the morning and maybe at time go back when I wanted to see if got a message from a friend. I spend time going to My Lot and Timebucks. For a time facebook was full of American politics that I was not interested and it seems have toned down on that. I would say I am not addicted to it. When I do go on I see a lot of the same people and wonder if they live on it. I use it sometimes for my selling but not too many people are interested in my products so I go to My Lot and Timebucks to earn some money.

I use it quite often but would never accept students adding me as a teacher. I think that is inappropriate.

I use Facebook everyday. I can't say I'm OBSESSED with it, but it's a great time passer...besides the fidget spinner.

I dont really use facebook anymore. I think older people are on facebook more. Im 18, so I think teenagers are me prone to be on twitter than facebook!

I use fb about every three months or so to spy on people I know and to delete all the idiots who want to be my friends without having the slightest idea who I am
Btw, I don't like your use of the term Holocaust. There was only one Holocaust in the history of humankind and the use of the term in a flippant context is tasteless.
