Remember Michael Jackson's pet chimpanzee?

Back in the 1980's Michael Jackson have a pet Chimpanzee named Bubbles and he spoils that chimp a lot but when Bubbles got older, He was taken away because older male chimpanzee can get violent and kill people. If you have the courage, Just Google Charla Nash. What happened to her is nightmarish and worst than death.
Back to the topic, Bubbles is currently living in a chimpanzee sanctuary and he have a hobby of painting. This week his painting will be auctioned for charity.
Anyway I found this video of La Toya Jackson (Michael Jackson's sister) having a reunion with bubbles. I think he recognized her but you can see he have a bit of angst and sadness on her because he felt abandoned and after 20 years a person he saw as family sees him again. The reunion will make you cry.
The Queen of Pop has an emotional reunion with Michael's pet chimpanzee, Bubbles.

Bubbles certainly is living like a celebrity. Where will the funds from the auction go?

Not really a celebrity life anymore. With Jacko he lives on a mansion and have access to a fridge and a bed. Now he is in a cage with other chimpanzees.

I'm glad Bubbles is living a life of comfort and he has something to keep him busy. I think it is so cruel to make pets out of wild animals. I'm sorry what happened to Ms Nash, that should never have happened to anyone. I have no idea why there is not a law against such "pets". A wild animal is a wild animal no matter what kind of behavior you teach it. Why are people surprised when they go wild? Dogs are only safe because they've been domesticated for thousands of years.

In Russia there is now domesticated fox created in labs. They are sold as pets legally but they got spayed to avoid developing a population of strays.
Back to the topic,If Bubbles was not taken away, A person might had the same fate as Charla Nash. I think monkeys are now legal as pets in the US but compared to chimps monkeys are at least cat sized.

I do remember this chimp now.
Long time after 20 yrs. I guess MJs estate keeps Bubbles in care.
