If someone gave you a house that needed a lot of work in a very unsafe section of town for free provided that you lived in it, would you take it and fix it up....and live in it?

The fixing it up part wouldn't be a problem since my husband does remodeling. However, the unsafe part would not work since we have 5 children and I have to think about their safety above all else. I would have to know just how bad the neighborhood was though before deciding.

It depends on whether I have the finances to fix it. Then, yes, there is a possibility I would. I've lived in bad sections before and didn't have any trouble with my neighbors.

@MsBooklover There have been many years of my life when I've been too poor to even consider those 'good' neighborhoods. One neighborhood I lived in was like graffiti city. It was everywhere, but I never had any trouble living there.

@just4him I am glad it all worked out for you. The area I would be living in that has a lot of crime if I went back to my roots would be too scary. They even kill homeless people, and they do not have money. it is senseless.

Only if they were covering the price of insurance or I could afford an alarm system.

Yes I would. I would not turn it down. A blessing I would think. But I donĀ“t have small children to worry about so...I do have a big giant son though haha
