WHEN IDOLS FAIL.

It wasn't his fault - it was just one of those things. The world's fastest man for over a decade Usain Bolt developed a cramp just seconds before completing his final race before retirement , falling to the track, grimacing in pain.
Certainly not the sort of ending thousands of adoring fans in the London Olympic Stadium , and millions watching around the world envisaged. However that awful moment in the stadium last night cannot erase Bolt's glorious career - he is a legend. However, it is a lesson to those who idolize. Whether movie stars, music super stars, sports personalities or other - these people are human . They laugh , cry, live and die - even though they may be endowed with special talents.
What do you idolize in life? Could it be - certain people, money, food , ambition? Whatever it is remember - idols can fail.

I don't think I idolize anything or anybody at all. I admire people for their skill, their talent, their intellectual capacity, but I don't think I ever idolized them. They're humans, they're bound to fail.

I don't idolize anyone. I may be fond of them, or impressed by them. Usain impressed me, but I didn't idolize him. I did wish him all the best and just feel so sorry that it went so wrong for him, I was watching when he went down. But I will say, he was a fantastic athlete and nothing can change everything he accomplished.

Not sure I idolize anyone or thing. I always believe that people are imperfect humans and things don't last forever.

I heard about that and it's sad it happened to him. I don't have any idols in my life. The person I look up to will never fail, will never forsake me, and is my greatest comfort. His mercy is endless and his forgiveness knows no bounds. He lifts me up when I fall and lets me know it's going to be okay.

It made me sick to see Bolt go down in his final race. He is such a joy, and I wanted him to finish on top.
I probably idolized my parents, if anything or anyone. Which is bad because only God never lets you down. Even if I think He does sometimes.

That cramp will be remembered by all his fans. If he had lost without that cramp then that would have been a different story - a sadder one. It is folly to idolise as nothing is permanent.
