New mate for the washer

I had just put in the dirty laundry into the washer, put in the detergent and pressed the start button for the washer to start. The exit hose for the washer to dispose the dirty water had to be had to be put outside of the kitchen since this is where my washer is located. Normally the hose is in the drainage but there isn't any drainage for the washer in my kitchen. There, I saw an army of black tiny ants crawling all over the stand ( leg) of the washer. It seems that the new mates had found a nest in one of the plates of the washer which I could not reach. I had to splash water on them to scare the ants off. Nope, I really wouldn't want a new mate for my new washer. Do I have to unscrew the plates and remove the nest?
