If Jesus Was 'the Good Shepherd,' Why Don't We Follow Him Yet?

Before you say, "But we do follow Him," tell me why none of our dead ancestors have 'risen to follow Jesus into the clouds' Why I think it is: because it would change the mass of the earth & would fling it away from the sun & would start an eternal ice age. Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust ... wasn't Jesus breaking that commandment by taking His earthly body into the clouds?
