I was just reading JolietJake's post and he mentioned heat wave of 115 degrees F. Now that is as bad as it is out here!!! But we never freeze. We never have tornadoes. Nor cyclones, hurricanes, typhoons, donderstorms, and what have you..... No earthquakes, or landslides... I sweat only three to four months a year... Rest of the year is tolerable. Now you know why I wouldn't leave this place..

We have snow in winter, but no hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes, flooding and not even landslides in my area.

@vandana7 Our normal temperature in summer never exceeds 28 degrees Celsius. This year we had three exceptional days over 35, but it was unusual and never happened before.

That sounds like my territory, the difference is that it usually is NOT humid here so when it gets over 100F it's usually tolerable, we just nap through it.

@rebelann .. Aw...thanks but no thanks...we have a river and a few lakes, even if they are polluted...water is absolutely essential for me.

Maybe @vandana7 it is usually very dry here, there are no bodies of water within a hundred miles.

If one compares your place to other places then it is not so bad. I'm happy that you're happy but I don't tolerate the heat well and 115 degrees is way too hot for me.

Not even snow. :) None what so ever in my town. The worst ..lack of adequate water, or incessant rains. Other than that, nature has been pretty kind to us in this town.

@vandana7 But how can you say that?Yes,where I am I do not experience floods earthquake etc.But these happen in other parts of India. Also there are places in North India with snowfall like Manali,Gulmarg,Ninital ,Shimla etc.It is not time to forget disasters in Gujarat.Even 2017 had its share of natural disasters.

I think we all acclimatise to the local weather conditions where ever we are. Some are luckier than others though!

I still wonder how people can live in Chile and not try to move elsewhere. Or why people live in San Francisco, or Florida...or Arkansas, or Illinois. Lots of hurricanes and tornadoes and earthquakes out there.
