i'm glad i went back to this department store inside the mall. i usually go to that department store to buy underwear, but i seem to remember seeing housewares at the back. i checked out the curtains and was surprised to find some light sheer curtains that are colored and have designs printed on them. (not the usual plain white) i chose the pale dusty yellow with big pink cabbage roses and green leaves and was surprised again. they were marked down from 299.75 pesos (US$ 5.83) to 140 pesos only (US$ 2.72) and there were only 4 pieces left, the exact number i needed. instead of 1199 pesos (US$ 23.34), i only paid 560 pesos (US$ 10.90) and saved 640.65 pesos (US$ 12.47). we put them up as soon as i got home and my mother liked them. as i gathered up the plastic wrappers and tags, i noticed that it was made locally in cainta, rizal, just east of metro manila, so that made me happy, too. what do you like when it comes to curtains? do prefer blinds or tinted glass instead? honestly, i prefer cafe curtains. i can keep the top open to let light in and still see what's going on outside, but keep the bottom half closed for privacy.

I bought my curtains here in Australia for my small house over there .. It costed me $8.00 a meter .. and I sewed them myself .. I love plain and simple prints .. I could have bought some curtain materials there too but I wasn't sure if they have what I was after .. but I could have saved a bit ...

I like drapes, because they help to keep the cold out in winter and they protect from the heat in summer.

all the drapes and curtains of our house were sewn by our late mother, and they are still good.

@hereandthere yes, and also because my late mother was an excellent dressmaker; she sewed many gowns and dresses of well-known personalities when she and my father were still living in Manila.

Those are pretty and you got a good buy on them. I like curtains. I get the heavier ones so in the winter they help keep out the cold and the heat in the summer. My kitchen curtains are thinner cause I want the light to come in.

it was and it felt so lucky, like it was meant to be. we only have wet and dry seasons because we are near the equator so our climate is tropical.

I prefer blinds. Ones that are not made of plastics. When it comes to curtains, I prefer drapes. Long and thick ones.

That was a lot of savings. I also like light colored curtains because I want a bright room. I am actually planning to buy a sewing machine so that I could make my own curtains and other things like pillow cases and bed covers.

What a great deal for such pretty curtains. We recently had custom made shades and draperies for our new family room. I needed sun protection. Our living room, dining room, and master bedroom all have custom made draperies, sheers, and valances to go with the furniture and bedding fabrics. I even have custom made curtains, blinds, shades, and valences in the bathrooms, my closet, and the rest of the rooms in my house.

I like blinds. My mother bought me some new blinds that have no cords on them. My cat loves playing with the cords of them. I do have valances on my windows though.

I traded our heavy drapes to light native design that is also made in the Philippines cause the climate is getting warmer,, my wife and mother love changing curtains and they always talk about it, yes it's cheaper now so we can afford several, I'm just in the sideline as an observer whenever they do curtains

Due to our weather and how the sun beats in when out, I use heavy blocking curtains. I found two very nice pretty curtains at MACY's and JC Penny's for $29 for two panels each. They were marked down from $75. I keep my living room ones open in the summer but keep the bedroom closed. I want to get some blue on white design for the living room since I'm making a blue white living room corner with decor etc. I'm watching the sales.

I prefer plastic curtains for a bathroom / shower because when I donĀ“t like it anymore, I can buy a new one.
