Good afternoon. Well I have done some stupid things in my life this is the worst. Send a box of Russell Stover chocolates. Guess what?mailed it to Florida. The package arrived melted. Got an email as my friend telling me you do not mail chocolate in the summer time. Not in South Florida.Oh!my. He said he put the chocolate in the freezer and have it for desserts. Can get any dumber than this.Stupid is the word. A lesson learned. photo public domaine

Its the thought that counts Fredo and he has or will eat them in the end by putting them in the freezer. Have not done that myself but its a really nice thought.

Oops, I learned that lesson a number of years ago. I sent a care package with some chocolate bars in it to our son while he was at university, and the chocolate melted because it sat outside in the outdoor mailbox for the place he rented on a hot day. Live and learn and never mail chocolate, right?

Makes sense but really who would have thought about them melting on route to Florida. At least your friend can have sweet frozen chocolates

The candy is sitting in a hot truck or cargo of the plane, not conducive for chocolate.

Lesson learned, indeed. They could have implemented a fridge service for edible goods though. Or does it exist already?

@MALUSE Right, I thought it had to exist already, at least for businesses. I wasn't sure about private individuals.

It does exist already. Amazon, as well as local firms, deliver food in Germany. They must have a fridge service.

If you order candy thru a candy company online they tell you they either ship it in dry ice or they won't ship in the summer. Anyplace is the south is too hot to mail candy LOL!

Most of the time, when my siblings come home for a vacation, they bring chocolates and most of it have melted, so we put them in the freezer and eat them after, :D

I have done that many times but not through the mail. I brought chocolates with me when going home to the Philippines. Of course, they were a bit melted but after putting them in the fridge, they were okay.

Chocolate in summer time sucks. I once bought chocolate and put it in my pants pocket only to find it melted to porridge and I was like "What?"
