I want to show you how they are fixing up this house that sold on my block.

This house had Shingles, they took them all off the house, I thought was strange, but now I see they are adding panels, it is looking very nice.
It was an old house , a quick sale, and the owners brother has put up a fence and took out the grass.
I say he is quite a handy man , do you like this?
The tan panels is what he is putting on, the shingles had termites in there.

It looks like wood rot and they are just putting those panels over old wood, so not sure how good that is.

@spiderdust that is terrible, this house sits next to another old house, so probably the same thing.

It's hard to get rid of them since they'll move from one house to another. A town I used to live in was practically one big termite mound with houses on top. You would always see the stripey exterminator tent on a house somewhere in the neighborhood.

They are lucky to have removed the shingles before the termites could cause more structural damage. I do like the new siding and fence as well.

Hopefully that gets rid of the termites and the termites didn't fly to the neighbors either. I do like the tan panels. Good work for him!

I hope they had the house treated for termites, if they were in the shingles they were probably in other wood.

I didn't see no one come out, because I am sure they are still there, putting up those panels won't help.

yes, me too. I heard the man that lived there had a termite inspector come out , but he knew the man and it was a friend, and he passed it.. so not really good for the new owner.

@DianneN It is a woman with four kids, her brother is a handy man and he is tearing down the shingles and putting the panels up. I think he now knows about the termites, but I don't know what he did to treat them, as he is still putting up the panels.

I like the fence. Don't know about the panels. I guess he'll replace the windows, too? Cute little craftsman style house.

Yes he is going to do the windows too.. I am not sure about those panels, I would have to see it all done. I have mixed feelings. It will look like a whole new house., the down side is i wake up early to them working hammer, hammer, hammer. they are still pulling off shingles, It has taken him over a week , just to put up that much of the shingles. A long way to go.
