Does “LIKE” Really Earn On MyLot Or Not?

In a recent discussion I wrote a person commented on the discussion. He said that he just likes the comments he receives on his discussions. He said that liking the comment still earned the person money. I was curious if this was true or not. I searched the help section and found this: Does 'liking' and tagging (even without responding or commenting) mean those discussions will show up in your activity or in the interesting section? - 'Liking', as mentioned above, affects how a post ranks in the Top Rated Discussions. It also increases the total of the "Likes [received]" shown on any person's profile. I can’t find anywhere in the FAQ section where liking a comment earns the person any money. Here on the site I use “LIKES” to like a comment, like a post, or to end the discussion I was having on a post with the person. Does anyone know if “LIKES” pays or not? I believe in the past, they did, but I am not sure they do now. A few people commented that you can earn very little for a like. Image: Pixabay free images

Some people say yes, but I'm not so sure about that.

Me too. I can't find anywhere it pays. That is why I looked after reading this person's comment. All they do is hit like on comments and move on. I am not so sure this is a good idea either.

You are correct. Here is what Alex responded in his post a few months back to another member, GoAskAlex_Admin @GoAskAlice (4145) • United States 8 Jun Yes, likes do have some direct bearing on earnings, and I have allowed linking to your own previous discussions if it is relevant to a discussion you have posted.

That is OK because I didn't know either. There are a lot of people who didn't have an idea. Finally, I found out from a post that Alex wrote you do get some pay for the likes. It is not clear in FAQ, but in a comment he made it cleared it up.

From what I understand, you can earn, but not as much as commenting.

It helps and goes towards your earning on a post you have written. This is what I understand from what Alex wrote in an old post I missed. You can earn on them but not that much from what I gather.

@michaeemeka You earn from the interactions you receive, not from the posts you make. For example, I now comment on your response, you will receive something. If you don't reply to my comment, I won't earn anything. MyLot is a little different, but it's still fun and rewarding.
This is where you will learn all about the myLot Earnings Program

Unless a person responds back to your comment you can't earn. I am late in answering my notification and so now you will earn on this comment. Hope you can understand how this works.

It is a nice way to say thank you and appreciate the comment you left on a post. Don't worry when people like your comments you do earn some from them. You have added to the conversation and the author is happy that you did and has liked your comment.

I figure that a 'like' is a response. I try to respond with an answer but sometimes 'like' something when the conversation has run as much as it could and rarely when I can't figure out what someone is talking about.

@poehere A lot of sites I have been on have rather nebulous rules. Swagbucks, for instance. No one is ever sure what is a rule and they keep changing. I will 'like' whenever it is appropriate and let the chips fall where they may.

You are right Jo Ann. However, it is never clearly stated in any of the new FAQ. Only on Alex's post and his comment made it clear that we can earn from them.

I finally found a clear understanding about likes on Alex post he made in June. I wasn't here at this time so looks like I have missed this. Here is what Alex said: GoAskAlex_Admin @GoAskAlice (4145) • United States 8 Jun Yes, likes do have some direct bearing on earnings, and I have allowed linking to your own previous discussions if it is relevant to a discussion you have posted. It is not stated like this in FAQ, but Alex says here it does help.

@poehere I did look in the FAQ and found nothing as well. I think I read Alex's post about it and that is where I got the idea "likes" did help. I just couldn't remember where I had heard it. However, I don't go liking things at will. If I'm going to respond to a comment I usually "like" the comment. Or if the comment has run its course.

I do not believe it earns a lot but it does contribute to your overall earnings, because it is an interaction. I see you got better and more inspired answers than I could have provided. I also use a like as a placeholder. I know I have been to a discussion if I have liked it, or a comment or response.

I am not at all sure what pays here and what does not pay....I just plod along and see what happens. I have noticed that my bank jumps erratically sometimes a little sometimes a lot.

That is what happens to me all the time. More times it is only a little than a lot because I don't or can't come here too often to interact on the site.
