Horse provides therapy to dog while humans argue.

The middle-aged rock band I'm in played a gig yesterday out on the "Delta," where farmers grow corn and boaters boat. Most of the people I met were really nice, but at one point, after our set, as I was alone and grabbing a beer, I heard a man and a woman talking.
She had passed by him with a dog behind her, and he had said, "Are you alone?" She said yes, and they began to chat. Within two minutes he was calling her a "f*cking b*tch" and she was screaming "I'm the only f*cking reason you're half clean and sober!"
By that time, I was heading back to the second band's show, and the doggy, who looked like a 1-year-old pit bull/something mix, was standing 30 feet away from them, looking sad and lost.
I didn't say anything, but I tapped the side of my leg twice, and the dog came running over to me. I crouched down and scratched him behind his ears and on his butt and said, "Humans like to argue sometimes, but it's not your fault, and I hope your 'mommy' is nice you you when you're at home. In this case, I think drugs are involved, probably meth, and I hope they work it out."
The dog licked my hand and wagged its tail. I'm sure he understood everything I said, as I was talking in my best combination of English, horse and dog. The woman then called him over without acknowledging me, as she moved toward the music (the band that played after us). The dog hesitated for a second, and then bounced after her.

Poor dogs, but no matter what, they'll still be loyal to their owners.

I know somebody who did not know how to train dogs being nasty to the dog, the dog was terrified of him, he was a nice person otherwise, just that he was trying to train the dog like he would train human child. poor dog...she was angelic but feared him very much.

@vandana7 Some discuss about parenting licences, but I guess a licence for owning dogs wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Nothing like a spirited public argument. Hope the gig went well.

@QuantumJoy It's too difficult to translate if you're not fluent in Dog.

I find public arguing uncomfortable, especially in front of children or pets. Contrary to popular belief I think pets do understand the moods of their owners as do children. We have a dog that turned 1 year old two days ago, he is shepard. lab and pit bull and he knows what he is supposed to do or not do.

You have a great rapport with animals- a quality not everyone possesses- this is quite great. Yes I hope the dog gets its due share of love and affection.
