When your phone call is not answered...

Consider me mad ... But here is the problem. This bank person. Sigh... He gives me his number and tells me, he will be of all possible assistance to me. (He has to be ...after all I spoke to his senior ..about my document being misplaced.) So I call. He does not lift the phone. I choose to wait for 5 minutes (he may be in loo). I call again. Still no answer. Oh he may not be in his seat. Another 5 minutes and another call. No answer. Great deal of help I am getting...it costs me what 4 dollars up and down and a whole day. Sigh. What if he is not there, when I reach the bank ...that means another day gone and another 4 dollars. So me tells me, I haven't a choice really, have I? So I go. Lucky...just as I reached the bank, he was leaving. I cursed him all the way and prayed to god that he be there. God listened to me without that phone call. ha ha. So...how long do you wait between one call and another ...when you want a reply desperately....and the matter is of fair importance to you... I am quite impatient apparently..lol. I know when my insurance agent does not answer, I end up sending sms demanding an answer... the only excuse I have for it is ..if I don't behave like that, things don't move out here. But may be, it is only an excuse.

I am not very patient, if someone does not reply, I continue to try, but I always wait at least 15 minutes.

15 minutes is a decent gap Anna...compare it with 5 minutes or even less..

@vandana7 If it's a mobile number, I usually also send a text message.

Oh how frustrating! In most cases, I can be patient to a point - and usually with businesses there is voice mail . . . so I assume they will get back to me in reasonable time. I do tend to bite my lip though until it's absolutely necessary that I bark .

I like people adhering to promised schedules. I go so far as calling them up before hand a couple of times to confirm whether they will be managing that timeline so that I can adjust my timeline accordingly. But when the D day comes, and it is no show from their end, then it is quite irritating for me.

@vandana7 I can understand that. Their time is part of your time too - you have a schedule to tend to too. When other people give me a time, I think of it as a time frame . . . I can be lenient plus or minus the time promised as I know things can come up on their working end. But if it is too far off, then surely I will view that as unprofessional on their part - then I would get highly annoyed.

That is disgusting that they won´t answer the phones. How do they get business when they are so lazy?

They get their salaries, they don't study the documents. They release funds to unscrupulous borrowers, and make others pay the price...

I desperately hate making calls to places like banks. Since I do online banking mostly it makes it easier for me to send them an email and get a reply from them than trying to catch them by phone.

Our folks don't reply email for ages...trust me. LOL. Many bank officers don't know how to use computers beyond their official application. lol.

If I call and no one answer, I will try it again 3 times. But if its still no answer I will get angry for that. Because they must be attentive all the calls they receive although if they on break time, they must look for another attendant to assist all the caller.

How much is the gap between those three times. That is crucial part. I yell at these people...because it is extremely irritating at times. I hate to be on phone to begin with. I admire those who can be on phone for long hours. Personally, phone is only for coordinating timelines, or communicating something urgent. Not for anything else...

Usually on and off all morning and the Insurance swiped me the money for the insurance from the bank twice all because he was not answering. I put my foot down and made him give the money back it was not his to take and I had not even been to the office to agree to such an amount. Was very lucky I saw that he had taken the money out without my agreement at all and I was very lucky to get it back the very same day. But I did have to get mad and insist also.

Yeah...it feels insulting..they don't bother lifting the phone. Worst part is ..if they cut it. My insurance agent does that when he is driving. That is oh so annoying...but it is actually my turn to understand, and I don't ..ego..lol.

I never have patience when it comes to making phone calls to a business. I actually was trying to call someone a few weeks ago and got a busy signal. I thought wow, I didn't know we could still get a busy signal, LOL
