Only A Face A Mother Could Love

You have to agree this is a face only a mother could love. Kahlua is 6 ½ months old and he is my baby. He clings to me, sleeps on top of my head, and spends all his waking moments by my side. His mother Cheyanne got sick when he was only a month old and could no longer feed him. I took over his feeding and caring for him until his mother had healed. Yesterday, Kahlua got his first haircut. He looked like a shaggy sheep dog with his hair in his eyes. Normally I wait until the little ones are around 6 months of age before I cut their hair for the first time. Isn’t he adorable? He reminds me of Falkor in the movie of The Never Ending Story. What do you think?

He has his mother's face for sure and her hair. My female looks just like the dad, hair and all. It is so funny to see the babies when they are young and see how much they look like the parents. He is adorable.

Thank you so much. He is a Bichon Frise and I have 4 of them now. I never thought I would have that many dogs. He is adorable and I love him so much. He is a very quiet and special dog.

@JasperTore Dogs are so wonderful to have. I never thought I would end up with 6 of them, but that is what I have here at home now. I wouldn't give any of them away for the world. They are my friends and keep me company.

@toniganzon You are so right. When he jumps up and looks at you with his big brown eyes you just have to pick him up and love him. He is a cuddle dog and love to cuddle. His mom is the same way.

I was sort of joking around because it is like I am his second mother. When his mom got sick it was up to me to feed him and keep his place clean. Normally his mom did this for them.

@rebelann He can be if he wants. He is really sensitive if I discipline him. He always hides his head and looks so sad. Around here when it is only us he is very active with the other dogs.

@nanette64 You must of been squashed by all of his weight. I lost my big dog of 146 pounds 4 years back to cancer, she had tumors and went blind and then could no longer eat. I know when she stepped on my foot it sure hut. I couldn't imagine her sitting on me. She was also a cuddlier. You have more courage than I do to let my dog sit on my lap. I would of been smashed under her weight.

Mostly he is quiet but the baby gets him playing and man can he make noise. He is so sweet and loving. He has to be next to me at all times.

It is also Hawaiian. But when he was born, he is a dark chocolate brown. As he started to get his hair it was mixed with brown, black and cream color. He reminded me of a Kahlua and cream coffee that is why I named him Kahlua.

Thank you so much. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of him before I cut his hair. He wasn't so adorable then. He had too much hair in his face and eyes and I felt so sorry for him. I think he looks much better like this.

Oh that is so funny. When I saw his picture I thought of Falkor. He so cute. I was told once that my eyes looked like Falkor's eyes. I could love this little one too.

Thank you so much. I cut his hair and the other dogs too. I don't like the way some people cut these dog hair. it looks terrible. I understand you need to cut their hair like we cut our hair. They have human like hair.

i saw the 3 dogs being born. I sat up all night with my female as she gave birth to them. I was the first one to see them and hold them. I couldn't just walk away and not feed them. They were my babies and I watched them grow every day.

@Hannihar This was a first for me. I always fix my animals too. After she gave birth to the babies I had her fixed. I made a promise to my friend who gave me Cheyanne I'd let her have one litter of pups with my male dog and I'd give her a female. She had one female and two male dogs in her litter. I wanted to give away the two other puppies but my boyfriend wanted to keep them. So we did.

@poehere Ann, that must have been a very special moment. I got my animals fixed so never saw them give birth. I wish I did once but did not know what I would do with the babies. We have so many animals as it is looking for homes.
